Minneapolis City Council Blames Police for Rising Crime After Defunding

AFTER IT VOTED TO DEFUND ITS OWN POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE MINNEAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL NOW INEXPLICABLY BLAMES ITS POLICE FOR THE CITY’S SOARING VIOLENT CRIME.

After voting to defund the police, the Minneapolis City Council now blames that very department for surging crime in the city. Remarkably, even though the council voted to eliminate police two months ago, the rise in crime prompted police criticism from council members.

Rising crime includes daylight carjackings, robberies, assaults, shooting and street racing. Shootings reportedly hit a five-year high recently as well. Basically, the city voted to shut down the police. And now Minneapolis appears to have become a modern-day Wild West.

“Residents are asking, ‘Where are the police?’” Council Member Jamal Osman said, claiming police calls go unanswered. “That is the only public safety option they have at the moment. MPD. They rely on MPD. And they are saying they are nowhere to be seen.”

In reality, approximately 100 officers left the department or took leave since the beginning of the year. The number swelled to more than double the usual amount of attrition, Meanwhile, Council President Lisa Bender accused police of intentionally not enforcing laws or making arrests.

Since the tragic death of George Floyd, Minneapolis became an epicenter for violent protest. Then the city council, showing ridiculously poor judgement, voted to eliminate its police force. It all begs the question: What did you think would happen?

Now crime is on the rise. And the city continues to suffer. George Floyd’s death falls on one rogue officer. But the violence happening now, that falls on the city’s elected officials. The citizens of Minneapolis should now hold those leaders accountable.

Looking at another article I see that they took money out of the police budget to hire “violence interrupters”. Absolutely ridiculous. What are they going to do, jump into the middle of a shootout?

What a great documentary. To add to what you said, the documentary shows the value of:

  1. Hard work. Really fucking hard work!
  2. Growing up in a family with parents who loved, and pushed their kids to be great at what they did.

Second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter charges for Derek Chauvin upheld. Third-degree murder charge dismissed

That’s probably just the beginning of charges being dismissed or lessened.

IMO, they will try to stall the trial until it is out of recent memory.

I don’t think it’s even possible for him to get a fair jury trial anyway, one way or another all potential jurors are tainted and biased. Whatever the outcome is, there will be grounds for an appeal. Only if there is a charge that can be tried by judge alone will this end anytime soon. What that mean is more riots and a lot of bullshit for Chauvin to go through, whether you think he deserves it or not.

Probably true.

She says to honor your ancestors, but her ancestors enslaved black people. What the fuck?

Her Indian ancestors did a lot of equal or worse things than that to members of lower castes. Mother’s side was Brahmin.

So did Biden’s, but we’re not supposed to talk about that. Orange man racist.

Did she say to honor her ancestors?

No, but black Americans honoring their ancestors will not result in anything good for Kamala Harris.

So what is the plan then, bring the caste system to America but replace the Dalits with Trump voters?

Trump is bad enough, you really don’t want people like this in charge.

Also, black Americans’ ancestors, if we go back to Africa, owned slaves.
