Whatever happened to that TV show “America’s Dumbest Criminals”? With bodycams and cellphone cameras becoming widespread they would have tons of footage.

And BLM wants bodycams gone.

Take Kenosha; the cops didn’t have bodycams but people were recording. Without that video evidence the cops would have had problems. But bodycams would have been even better.
In the case of Hakim Littleton, the original narrative was that he pulled out a cell phone which is why Detroit PD released the footage sooner than normal.

I worked on a bodycam project with a police department. Within 3 months of those things being rolled out, complaints against police dropped by over 99%. Some scumbag would lodge complaint, the body cam would be played to them and then almost all complaints would be withdrawn.
Those things are invaluable

I actually don’t have a problem with this, except insofar as I don’t think there should be any other national anthem recognized. They’re a private org, they have tons of black athletes, and we all agree there are serious problems that need resolving. IMO this doesn’t need to go hand in hand with the rioting or politics.
What happens if people start kneeling for this one too?
It’s not the worst thing that could happen for sure, but I don’t think that sports is the place for politics and social justice issues. There are a thousand other problems that aren’t being addressed, and the incidents that spurred this are not as one sided as they are portrayed to be.

They almost never are, but as much as I hate it I think that people with a public face or following need to speak up for the things they believe in, because most people live their lives in abject ignorance.
I prefer that the public figures are well informed and reasonable, but I can’t force it. I do have limits though, because I agree that sports should be a sanctuary from politics, not an extension.
Considering that the incident that spurred these latest developments involves a wanted sex offender stealing a woman’s keys and car before pulling a knife on the cops and getting shot, is this really something worth speaking up for?
Have you seen what NBA games look like now? Aside from no spectators, they have “Black Live Matter” and other related slogans everywhere you look. The players’ names on their jerseys have been replaced with BLM-related slogans. It’s not just an extension of politics, it’s becoming the main stage.
The irony is that on most weekends there are 50+ people shot in Chicago, mostly if not all black, and the NBA seems to be fine with that. Why not protest that instead? But for a wanted rapist who was victimizing a black woman they will cancel games.
That’s the media for ya! Fuck up a simple story. Can we say Patriot Prayer is a right wing group? Sure not in the same way BLM is a left wing group, but sure. The guy was flat murdered in cold blood for the crime of being in Portland. It’s the fault of the BLM rioters who enabled the guy and the ANTIFA asshole who carried it out.
I saw the video, these guys were minding their own business until you hear, chillingly, “We have a Trumper over here!”
Wheeler is the stupidest, most incompetent person I have ever seen with exception of DeBlasio. He has repeatedly enabled the riots, so he has culpability. If he was enforcing the law, this wouldn’t have happened, but it’s BLM’s fault. They murdered him and cheered.

Did you tour the riot damage? If your close you might as well. If or when you do, remember that in one of those burned out husks, they found an unidentifiable body a month later. Some one was murdered in those riots.
The scope of the riots are too large no matter how small.
You can have the tiniest lump of cancer in your body, but if you don’t cut it out it will spread. We cannot look at this as isolated incidents, it’s a traveling murder circus.
33 people are dead, if we don’t care now when do we care? How many is too many, 34? 35? People who would still be alive if there were riots.
People don’t get killed in protests, hence they are not protests nor are they in anyway peaceful. Sure for a couple of days at the beginning they were. Now, if you don’t bend your knee to these maniacs, you are a fascist. Which means you life doesn’t matter one damn bit.
This was hilarious and sort of tragic, but who can blame those departments? Why risk it when they are just letting people go?
There is some good news, DHS deputized the Oregon State Police as federal agents. So when these guys make an arrest, it goes before a federal prosecutor, not the limp dick Portland DA, who just lets them go. Now we may see some charges stick!
