I wouldn’t wish that even on you.
Agreed.
Still doesn’t give them a right to riot and or loot.
Stop trying to piss on my leg and tell me its raining. For at least two threads, every time I’ve brought up some comparative issue around the world, you have tried to dismiss my opinion as irrelevant because it has nothing to do with America, in your mind. Your guilty of everything you accuse me of, including memory loss.
Nope. For one this thread didn’t need a comparative issue because the thread is about something going on in America. People just tried to say stop using whataboutism in regards to this.
The other thread was largely about politics in the US and US immigration policy. If I remember right a lot of my comments towards you were helping you understand the labor situation in the US.
I don’t know what to tell you. It’s a US companies message board and it’s history shows that US events get talked about more. You can look at the main board for that. I’m far from a US #1 person and I’m far from what happens in the rest of the world is trivial.
Your opinion is not irrelevant by nature or anything. It’s irrelevant in the sense that I said from the beginning. Saying seriously where else would be better for black people to live is irrelevant. Has nothing to do with the issue. Not on subject in the least bit. It’s trying to for some reason talk about something else. George Floyd was (allegedly at this point) killed by cops in Minnesota.
I will repost CG’s post to you.
“You are killing the “whaddaboutism” game right now.
Me: Blacks face issues here in america
You: But what about Africa, its worse there! If its so bad in the US, they should move back to Africa!
Me: The US has a history of systematic oppression of blacks so many in the black community don’t trust the system to work for them.
You: Well what about the courts in China or the ME, those are way worse than the USAs so they should trust the USAs system.”
Everyone notice the riots are happening in states where it’s hard to get a gun so the only people who have them are cops and criminals?
A young guy I know shared an Armed Asians On The Rooftops meme. I’m not sure if he knew it was a throwback to the Asians who saved their own businesses in the '92 LA Riots. Even if he didn’t know about Armed Asians On The Rooftops before it was cool, so what?
No riots in my area today. Just marchers. I don’t know about everywhere else in America, but it almost seems like picking places and people to rob and assault at random isn’t worth anyone’s while in Maine. Must be all the trees.
We have states where it’s hard to get a gun? Are you talking about the states that have more requirements than simply parking your car?
I noticed it was states with hipsters.
Sorry, @theBeth;
There is no State in the Union where it is hard to get a gun.
We have churches that have raffled them off in our area. Why turn the other cheek when you can turn some hot lead on your enemy!
Of course I don’t know how difficult it actually is to get the gun. I think you have to get a ticket at the church and then go to the ice cream social and be present to get it. Too much trouble for me.
He’s right you know. New York City isn’t a state, for one, it’s a city. And buying a gun is a piece of cake once you get your permit issued at the discretion of an un-elected bureaucrat. The difference between that and buying a gun in your local jurisdiction are negligible, at best.
There couldn’t possibly be a connection between the lack of violence here and the general knowledge that firearms are extremely common and commonly carried. That old rifle would be useless against government tanks anyway.
Really, why would you even suggest such a thing?
My state is in a pretty rough place right now. One of my friends stopped the killing of a truck driver that drove into a blocked highway (he was protesting at the time and kept the peace). It is sad seeing all these things happen. Seeing smoke coming from the cities is a bit like seeing the closest thing to anarchy I’ve ever experienced.
Much of the protests are peaceful. Minnesota has seen out of state agitators come in and cause much of the problems.
IMO, we have seen good leadership at the top. The governor has taken responsibility on things that he could have passed the buck on.
Munchies man. Hardcore munchies.
Agree 100%. However in order to increase the qualification threshold you will need to a) increase pay for low ranking beat cops and b) need to find more people. I perceive it as part supply problem and part incentive problem.
That is fucking amazing. The matrix has a glitch!
He hasn’t gotten everything right, but he’s done a really good job on this so far
I think deep down that’s what I meant.
Is it the End Times??
No, seriously, I think it’s the End Times…
Agree. I like that he has taken responsibility. He has acknowledged mistakes, and comes with solutions on how to fix them and prevent future occurrences.
I always think of Minnesota as the place that nothing crazy ever happens, so this has just been so unreal.
Yeah, it’s like Wisconsin…cold, cheese, beer, football…not much else. I would have expected this in St. Louis or any of a number of cities in other states, but Minnesota?? Didn’t see that coming
If a Maine Cop did that you could just as easily bus a bunch of agitators into Portland and have the same riot, just a smaller scale. Less to burn, but we have Target.
Protect yourself and your people. Things might just be getting started.
It seems lots of the issues are from out of state people. Hopefully they go back soon.
I’m guessing we have more targets to loot than Maine.
