This is what happens when you have political appeasement and hamstringing of the police response.
I in no way endorse live ammo, unless it’s a situation where officers are taking active fire from a group they can see (clearly appropriate).
However, if you don’t ACTUALLY crack down on the rioters and ACTUALLY prosecute them, they will continue to arm themselves further. That’s unacceptable. They’re already armed.
Absolute bull crap. Those businesses are livelihoods! Now they may never bounce back having already survived lockdowns and Covid. Those businesses represent jobs that may never return. Those businesses represent not just money invested but the time of a limited life span invested. The latter completely and utterly lost forever. Then there are the actual lives taken, maimed, and scarred. Those aren’t Trumpsters running around in red cities. Don’t even.
Sounds like the crap BLM says. Oh insurance will cover it all. It’s just buildings.
This is pure left wing violence. Say it?
Trump America…,My God, as if it’s a bunch of red, white, and, blue waving red necks in pickup trucks burning and beating in spreading locations. It isn’t. And I suspect your tune would be a hell of a lot different if it were.
Orange man bad is as bad as the Orange man.
I have heard too long about the barely restrained violence of right-wingers and Trumpians. Democrats and the left are being given way too big of a pass about their own charged language and failed policies.
Trump? Trump is no worse than Democrat leaders and media.
You may think that, but have you had people that work under you? It doesn’t matter if my underling Mike sucks balls, if he doesn’t finish his projects, I am the one who the higher ups are going to blame (the people above them will blame them too as they are in charge of me), as it was my job to make sure these projects I have allocated get finished. If a company is failing it isn’t the lowly workers who get blamed it is the CEO. If the country is going through shit, it is the president.
Bull crap. It’s the violent people who decided to ignore representative and judicial outlets. I see a whole hell of a lot of blue/left leading leadership in these locations year after year.
And by the way, that’s justifies him to use any means necessary to control the streets of these states and cities if he is somehow now resonsible for the history and policies that spawned these violent thugs
This is a silly idea. Trump probably caused Chicago’s horrific black on black violent crime too. Hey he’s President!
I don’t think Trump took the correct actions at all to calm the situation. If anything he has spurred it on. He is in charge. He owns it.
No, but he owns the stats as the stats under his rule. Is it fair, probably not. Was it fair that Trump took credit for the stock market pre-Covid? Was it fair that he did not want anything to do with the stock market post-Covid? Can’t have it both ways.
No he didn’t. But neither did the democrats. They spurred it on in their own way by tacitly accepting it, and never really mentioning the rioters, just the peaceful side of things.
They could have taken leadership but they chose to pander for votes and appease the violent criminals all in one go.
It’s as much theirs as Trump’s. We don’t have a monarchy, we have a legislative branch and an executive. They both ignored what needed to be done.
The leader of the party that owns the majority of govt, owns what is happening in the country. Like it or not trump is the leader of this country, and this is the trump era. In my mind this is leadership 101. You take responsibility for your team’s performance and you figure out a way to win despite some dysfunction, you don’t finger point and say “I played great, it was the Dems that sunk us”. Figure out a way to win damnit. He’s supposed to be a dealmaker… Make damn deal that gets us winning again.
If you don’t agree, that’s fine. But you really shouldn’t give trump credit for any good things that have happened during his term either then.
The conditions within these awfully blue cities didn’t just happen within the last 4 years…The violence and crime. And, in the last 4 years, is there some unique level of lethal force by police officers I’m unaware of? Should Obama and Clinton ask Trump to join them for public stoning? What about these Democrat mayors and councilmen?
Trump has his own ugly warts. Democrats are no better. And frankly, as violent as the left-wing is showing itself to be, enabling and largely silent among the “respectable” class, perhaps more immediately worse.
In the moment pretty mad. Nothing to make me think that the right decision is killing the pee thrower. This type of stuff happens every day in high schools. We are not lining up the bullies for the firing squad.
One political wing is actively murdering, beating, committing arson, looting, vandalizing, and unilaterally making themselves the final word on which of our historical figures get to stand in the public square…
Guess what, it’s the never-Trump, left-wing.
So much for the old fantasies of marauding gangs of Trumpers savaging minorities. Try to be a peaceful Trump supporter at a back the blue rally. See if feces flinging shit-heads with shields don’t show up, because hey they’re the only gathering allowed says them.
I think that the president’s public statements, actions and rhetoric before, and then in the aftermath of events has a big impact on how the public responds. I think that is a big reason why the protests and riots exploded, and continue to explode.
Trump has always fomented division and a them vs us attitude domestically, and he has since doubled down on it. And we are now reaping the rewards for voting that into power.
US politics has become very polarized in recent years and it’s not any one person or party who is to blame. Obama started off fairly moderate and went further to the left as time went by, things were already shifting before Trump came on the scene. I’m not trying to defend Trump, I’m just pointing out that he’s not the only one at fault. Don’t forget Joe Biden with his talk about how “silence is complicity”, if that’s the case then he is complicit in these riots.
You actually believe there are riots and violence because Trump called out the violence and riots in unequivocal language?
Because Federal Agents protected Federal property when a derelict Mayor hamstrung local response?
Can you tell me the amount of unarmed black men killed by police per year? Can you tell me the percentage of all homicides that blacks make up as both victim and offender while only being 13% of the population?! Now can you tell me how in the world we could possibly expect similar rates (more whites killed by police in absolute numbers) killed by officers justified or not? Where is that hard and frequent discussion in the media?
Can you tell me why every death now has to be sensationalized by race in the news if it involves a black man even though there is zero evidence that race was even on the officer’s mind? We can find equivalents of all these situations involving whites at the wrong end, after all. Where is the proper perspective? Where is the caution? Why are we scouring the nation to find a Karen here and there. And immediately zero in on a black suspect’s questionable death (must be racism) with suggestive language about the hearts and minds of the officers involved? Much less blame all of white America through some indirect and subconscious participation in systemic racism. Or, compliance through silence.
