A great way to reduce crime is to reduce unwanted children. About 20 years after Roe V Wade the US saw a large drop in crime. Less unwanted children joining gangs, robbing stores, etc.
IMO, expanding birth control (and abortion) access to the point that anyone can get it easily would be an extremely efficient method of reducing crime and poverty.

Or having fathers who donāt let their daughters link their self esteem and sense of self worth to their sexuality. Itās amazing what having a father who respects his wife and a mother who is worthy of respect will do for a child.

Sure, but far harder to implement.
Seems simple, yet no one has been able to figure out a solution to that problem in the past 50 yearsā¦ And we canāt blame racism as more white folks are affected than black folks.
At some point itās no longer worth it though.
When I used to live downtown next to the projects, satellite TV was still the thing. In the townhouses there almost every single house had a satellite dish. There is a food bank in the projects too. Nobody was committing crimes because they were starving, that is for sure.
Iāve been there once. I get the impression that they actually do have decent education, illiteracy is pretty much non-existent and a lot of people (not just those working with tourists) speak multiple languages. Of course part of the reason for investing so much in education is because it doubles as communist indoctrination/brainwashing. Healthcare sounds alright if you have the right connections, otherwise they let you die.
Tell you the truth, itās not worse than how the poor majority live in neighboring countries. Crime is low, meat is scarce but nobody is starving, and people arenāt living in shacks made of sheet metal. Third world capitalism is not a whole lot different from communism in many ways.
Reduce crime and poverty by killing poor people and criminals before they are even born.
Probably the opposite of what most people are doing because itās getting worse and worse as time goes by.

No one has figured out how to fix it because theyāve been too busy if trying to figure out who to blame for the problems, like white supremacy. And now, BLM doesnāt even believe single motherhood is a bad thing.

Was it better to be in poverty in 1970, or 2017? More are in poverty in 2017 for sure, but is their standard of living better than 1970?

I have family there. The education is crap unless you have money or are an arm of the state. Yes, most of them can read and write and recite the communist manifesto.
Healthcare is the biggest ruse. Sure, you can go to a hospital, but if you donāt bring your own pillows and sheets they toss you on a rack. The people who can and have access to American dollars will pay to get decent care. Otherwise, drink a bunch of rum and bite down on a bit because itās going to hurt.

I wasnāt alive back then, but according to some people the average standard of living in North America has increased substantially in the past few decades. Maybe now itās better except people have become more materialistic so if you canāt afford the newest smartphone or playstation or whatever itās like the end of the world and you might as well live in a mud hut. Perception is a large part of it.

Seems like more people are becoming poor or lower middle class, and there are more to come with the looming COVID economic apocalypse. The thing that confuses the situation is all these expensive electronics that are seen as essential and everyone has, when I was a kid I knew people who didnāt have a home phone. If you donāt waste your money on dumb shit then you would be able to afford the basics.

Eugenics implies that the fertility of individuals within a population is controlled by a group to select for certain genetics. What I suggest does not fit this description. It would all be up to the individuals on wither or not they accept methods of controlling child birth.
