Anti-business? How the hell is being anti-government-HELPING business anti-business? How is that LF position anti-capitalist?

Carlin was anti-everything.

Carlin was possibly the worst comedian that I’ve ever heard. Much of his stuff was just liberal commentary with a bit of humor thrown in…and only a bit.

Um…he was famous…now he’s dead…I’m sorry for his family and the people who loved him assuming that such existed.
I heard him, ONCE, in all 14 of his HBO specials allude to gun control. (Getting rid of the toy guns, but keep the fucking real ones).

One comment in over 30 years of stand up now means that “much of his stuff was just liberal commentary with a bit of humor throwin in”?

How the hell, in any way shape or form, is he liberal? At all? Name one line. Any line. Any piece of liberal commentary coming from his mouth.
“They’re going to get rid of the toy guns, but keep the fucking real ones.”

That’s the closest thing I’ve ever heard of his to a liberal talking point.

The only thing that would make that even remotely liberal is if he actually believed it should be within the government’s power to rid the country of toy guns. He never even suggested that so we don’t really even know which side of the fence he was on. We know he didn’t trust government to do anything right.

If he was pro gun that would be the first comment that I’m aware of that was not tipped to the radical left.

Yea…he was a far left idiot…wait…that was redundant.

I think youre misunderstanding the context of it. He was talking about some attempt to ban toy guns in the inner city or something like that (I can’t remember exactly) but that they also werent fighting to get rid of the REAL guns. Whether you read that as him being anti-gun or just anti-get-rid-of-the-toy-guns is up to you. Then he proceeded to stroke an imaginary penis.

And about time…dying was the best thing he ever did.

Carlin was a comic god… Well now he’s dead hopefully God indeed has a good sense of humor… for his sake.

Like most of his fellow “radical liberals” he didn’t believe in God.
I wonder if he has now changed his mind…

Catholicism has a tendency to do that to people…
You got that right.

He wasn’t proposing that they SHOULD get rid of guns.

He was just pointing out the absurdity of it. That was what he did. Point out all the little absurdities that we all take for granted.

Very simple, he was anti government and anti business. I hope you don’t need a road map to discover why lefties are anti business.
Anti-hand outs is not anti-business. Anti-business means heavy regulation. He was not for or against (going by his comedy alone) regulation. He was anti-establishment, a position that can be either left OR right wing.

And anti-government… how the hell is that leftist?

I don’t think he was far left. He made fun of those idiots too. He made fun of everyone and everything. He tried to remove himself from the political spectrum so he could attack every part of it.

Thanks for your mighty insight.

A good majority of his comedy was about LANGUAGE, and was NOT politically charged.

And yes, people who speak up against government are usually republicans. Or they used to be. Now the GOP has become a twisted retarded cousin of its former self. Ronald Reagen has PLENTY of anti-government quotes, the most remember being “The scariest words in the English language are: I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”

I’m going to stop arguing with you because you have a horrible case of confirmation bias, and idiocy. You have no idea what left and right mean, that much is obvious.

Bye bye.

You can win this if you were to cite a liberal/democratic position from his works (Anti-conservative is not liberal. Just as anti-liberal is not conservative). He was anti-both, frequently at the same time.

He’d shit on conservative businessmen then move right along to yuppie cocksuckers and their granola. Find him actually supporting government health care, welfare programs, etc.

Or you could keep just saying his material was liberal and hope that repetition will make it true.

On a related note, Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest his funeral:

People like Mick28 are scared of that which they do not understand which is most things. Liberals = bad. If he doesn??t understand it then it must be bad therefore liberal.
