Thanks for the compliment…im trying my best.
So what part of the state do you hail from? You don’t have to be too specific.

Welcome to the club. Feel free to jump in any of the training logs if you have a question. Good luck with everything!!

A little northwest of Indy, southeast of Chicago. Yourself?[/quote]
I’m opposite of you. I’m about 40 minutes South east of Indy… half way between it and Cincinnati

Thanks, bulldog. I definately have some muscle memory coming back on the deadlifts as I could have knocked out quite a few more. I didn’t want my form to go to crap, though, so I called it quits at ten reps. I just got cleared to lift heavy and load my spine, so I don’t want to push too far too fast. The front squats felt a little heavy today, but my quads have always been a weak point for me, hence my focus on front squats.

Mechanically, I have never been a good squatter as going too far past parallel causes my hips to round. On the same token, if I widen my stance too much it begins to feel like the inside of my knees are tearing apart. Damned if I do, damned if I don’t. With back squats my glutes and hamstrings would take over if I used very much weight. The lift would begin to resemble an awkward good morning if I wasn’t careful.

When I started back up after a long time away from lifting my biggest issues were and still are.

  1. Loss of actual soft tissue strength. The muscle strength came back in a hurry but my ligaments and tendons didnt.

  2. Allot of mobility issues.
