It is called being young. I used to be a pussy, then I grew up and started to accomplish things like graduating HS and college(only one in my family to do this), getting a great job and having a kid. I am 32 and stopped being a pussy around 23-24 years old. Accomplishment builds confidence, character and high self-worth.
The biggest issue I see with most people my age(I’m 24), is the total inability to decipher fantasy from reality. I blame social networking. Look at me! I’m on the internet! I’m always happy! That’s why I’m smiling so big in the 9,247 pictures of me in various states of undress and intoxication on my fakebook! Life is fucking sweet!
What the fuck ever. You go to a bar or a club that caters to the 21-25 crowd and I will show you a room full of people, elbow to elbow bullshitting themselves and everyone else. People try so hard to be something they’re not.
As for job performance. It pisses me of that you are expected to tip everyone now for not doing anything. Tip jars are everywhere. Coffee shops, sandwich shops, fuck that. I’m not tipping you for doing your job(half assed 99% of the time). Shit, I’m a bartender and I don’t even know why I’m supposed to be tipped. It’s my job to make you fucking drinks(and hit on your girlfriend)!
I for the most part agree, my generation is a bunch of lazy, stupid fucks. Everyone thinks the economy is so bad now, wait. people my age have no fucking idea how to handle money, and I don’t think they ever will.
I think the biggest factors behind the denigration of the younger generations is that many older people have forgotten what it was like to be a callow, inexperienced youth that just entered the real world, and younger people are too inexperienced to sniff out the older people’s bullshit.
We’re 20, why the fuck do we have to act like a 50 year old with 30 kids and 15 businesses to run. If anyone can say they matured before 20 they are plain bullshitting or had no parents.
The majorirty of people are pussies. Always and forever, from the caves to the skyscrapers. The thing is, books are rarely written about pussies. When legend becomes fact, print the legend.
The real bullshit is the number of people who post here acting like big tough macho superheroes. I’ll bet a lot of them don’t even lift. It’s easy to be a poseur here as on any internet forum.

As I read this again a few minutes later, it sounds like I was defending the passive behavior of younger people. I meant instead that the younger generation is not all that dissimilar from what the older generations were when they were young.

In my opinion, the problem with my generation is the “all play, no work” ideals many of my ‘peers’ live by. Why work hard for a scholarship when mommy and daddy will pay? Why go to class when barely passing is acceptable? Why do ANYTHING hard when you can just sleep through life? My generation’s problem is not lack of confidence, it’s lack of motivation. I have found that it is almost impossible for me to keep a training partner under 25 (I’m 18.)
I just think it is wierd that someone thinks they are being smart when they try and label an entire generation like that.
We have the “greatest generation” (fucking barf)for example. for fighting in ww2 apparently. well, this generation y of so called pussies is fighting a war too, with a bewildering definition of victory and with all new challenges and pitfalls presented by this style of warfare. i do not support the war, but the men over there are working hard as hell. why isn’t our generation great too?
and what generation is labeling us this way? i am sure we can nitpick them too. this is just more of human beings trying to justify their existence in any way possible. which in this case is done by belittling an entire group of people to make themselves feel better.
also, since i know people are wondering: it is embarrassing how many guys are coming on here and jacking themselves off publicly about how much more awesome they are than their friends.
