Geek S**T

I don’t know if it’s worth $150, but this is pretty damn cool (re: Dead Space)

Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition (360 only) comes with:

The Dead Space game
Special Ultra Limited Edition packaging
Dead Space Downfall Animated Movie (DVD)
Bonus content DVD
Exclusive custom lithograph art illustrated and signed by Ben Templesmith
97-pg Dead Space art book written and illustrated by the development team
160-pg Graphic novel
Ishimura crew patch

The regular version of the game is available for the PS3 and both the PS3 and 360 each get a custom downloadable player “suit” that the user can download. I’d pick this one up, guys (PS3 and 360 owners).

Nobody liked Phantasy Star for the Sega Genesis? That was a cool game.

My homeboy used to play Phantasy Star II. Play was the wrong word to use. He used to be possessed by Phantasy Star II. After he bought the game he went missing for two weeks. The only time we saw him was when he came outside in his PJ’s and house robe with the instruction booklet in his hand to ramble about some chick name Nei and some planet exploding. He would then get quiet for about ten minutes then walk back to his house. It was dark times indeed.

I got the original and its sequels on my PSP, very addictive. I like the retro feel of the gameplay and graphics. You really do feel like your sucked into another world lol.

The PSP version i have says that they are remaking the game and possibly a film will come out.

Do you mean you have Phantasy Star and its sequals as ROMs on a Memory Stick that you play off of? Or did they actually come bundled on a UMD disk made specifically for the PSP?

Also, do you know if you can play ROMs in general and what emulators can be used on the PSP?

I just hope the next version of the PSP uses SDHC. Higher capacities are available that what is currently out in the Memory Stick format (at least I think).
There’s a Sega classics UMD you can get with all the good games from back in the day. Its one of the top titles on the PSP right now. I haven’t tried putting a Emulator/ROM onto UMD yet but that’s a great idea.

Whats SDHC?

Resident Evil on the Playstation is the best game of all time. You get drawn so much into that game.

I dont know if I would say the best of all time but it was a great one and not b/c it scared the piss out of you but b/c it was a great all-around game.

I might be the only one who cares but I saw the first pics of Angels & Demons in the USA Today…today. I for one cant wait to see this movie.

If you are unfamiliar with the property A&D is the forerunner of The Da Vinci Code. I (might be the only one but) really, really like the Movie of The Da Vinci Code. To me its a movie I could never get tiered of watching, Tom Hanks is one of the best 3 actors of all time and who dosent want to see Jean Reno play a guy called “The Bull”!

Yes, Da Vinci was a bit slow but to me so was the book until 2/3 of the way in. But A&Ds had a much better pace and was the better book. But like Da Vinci, Demons has a great cast with Hanks, Ewan McGregor and Ayelet Zurer(Vantage Point, and she is very easy one the eyes!) playing the key rolls

I will be inline on May 15 to see this one but will I be alone?

Def good, scared the shit out of me when it first came out.

RE4 for the Wii is pretty badass. One of the few shooter games that I liked. So many “Oh shit, of course I’m out of ammo the same moment 20 infected are coming at me” moments. haha!

Being that there are 78 pages to sift through, has anyone seen the stills (they’ve been out for a while) of the live action G.I. Joe movie?

Also, the trailer for the remake of Friday the 13th dropped and it looks really good. Marcus Nispel is directing it and he was responsible for Pathfinder, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake.

To ROM on PSP:

 1. Load your preferred Emu’s and ROMs on to memory stik

 2. Have spare battery

 3. “Mod” one battery by bending back one connection prong on battery

 4. Insert M.S.

 5. Power On. If done correctly, PSP will load operations from M.S. in place of firmware.

This is from a friend who has modded many, many PSPs, and has about 50-60 gigs of emus and roms playable for his own PSP

He also recommends doing this on the PSP slims, as it’s easier to get a spare battery so you can still access your firmware and play the UMDs.

Okay, I hate to deter from any ongoing conversations, but anyone who plays Dead Space and doesn’t get the living shit scared out of him is either a liar or my hero.

Then I don’t know how I’ll fair because I gave up on F.E.A.R. because it was too scary.

Got to the office building with the invisible ninjas and that’s all she wrote…
Haha, yes, that part was freaking scary. F.E.A.R. was pretty scary in spots, but I gotta say Dead Space is getting me a bit more at this point, and I’m only on Level 5! The good thing about the game is that a lot of the scariness is built up mentally. The game does a GREAT job of creating ridiculously creepy atmospheres and mixes unnerving sounds and “music” into the game. It’s really top quality, but you have to do it right. Night play only - No lights on - Music Cranked.

This is something that I have never been able to relate to in video games or movies. The Silent Hills, Resident Evils or any other “Horror” games are fun but not b/c they are scary but b/c most have a good mystery going on in them. Same with moves minus the mystery and add the stupid!

Poltergeist, The Omen or Friday the Thirteenth, Halloween and Elm St. type movies are just stupid to me. Seven and Event Horizon were good movies b/c they had a good story, but most are just retarded and the whole time im just think “No bitch! Not up stairs!” or “Christ! Not in the GD shed!” and if its not that then its a cheep scare where the throw something at the camera and get a “knee jerk” reactions.

I really want to play Dead Space b/c it looks like a good game but it would really have to be something special for me to be scared, and throwing stuff at the camera is not going to do it.

I never really thoughts those games were particularly scary, either. This game’s horror style is closer to Doom 3 (NOT the gimmicky “everything pops out” style,) mixed with F.E.A.R. I’m not sure if you’ve ever played those games or not, but there were definitely some scary ass spots in F.E.A.R.

To fans of The Underworld Movies…

I wonder why Kate Beckinsdale isn’t coming back. Not that I have an issue with Rhona Mitra though.

I don’t like scary games. I can watch scary movies over and over but some of these games are too damn realistic when it comes to the scares and ambiance. I feel like I’m 10 years old when I play shit like that.

Its a prequel…Mitra is playing Sonja??, Viktor’s daughter that he killed for falling in love with Lucian.

Dead space had me on the edge of my seat, best survival horror ive played in a while

Resident Evil and F.E.A.R are 2 games that scared the shit out of me and a friend when we’d play them - it gets annoying when it’s like you’re watching a 5 hour long horror.

Diablo 1 on the PC, at night with the surround sound cranked, scared the shit outta me. The faint wail of children laughing as you descended to lower and lower levels. Holy shit.

Exactly, here’s a quote I got from one of the sneek peak pictures of the movie including her.

“Mitra plays Sonja, the secret lover of Lycan leader Lucian (played by Michael Sheen), who must help battle the Death Dealer army to win the werewolves’ freedom.”

Being scared is the whole point of those games. You bunch of pussies.
