Thanks for the heads up though.

I assume it did ok at the box office?

It did ‘okay’, which I think might be why they didn’t pull out all the stops with the exclusives. Perhaps they weren’t sure it would sell as well.

$134 million domestically
$127 million foreign

The production budget was $150 million though.

Their biggest problem was convincing the public that it was not the same movie. They didn’t do near enough to distance themselves from the first one in advertising.

I know tons of people who didn’t see it simply because they didn’t like the first one.[/quote]

This is true. I can’t tell you how many people I tried to explain that to. It just wasn’t clear enough to the general public.

Cross your fingers that the DVD sales are significant, because if not, that will be the last Hulk flick for a long while.

Does anyone have a link to the Hulk crossover animated cartoons. I believe the first one was Hulk vs Wolverine.

Are you talking about the upcoming “Hulk VS.” DVD? Here’s one link:

It didn’t help that Norton distanced himself from the project. He was unhappy with the editing process and I believe, removed himself from a producer’s credit and didn’t do a ton of publicity for the film.

Norton later said those comments were blown out of proportion. Here’s a quote from Norton on that issue:

“Like so many people I’ve loved the story of The Hulk since I was a kid, so it was thrilling when Marvel asked me to write and help produce an altogether new screen incarnation, as well as play Bruce Banner. I grew up reading Marvel Comics and always loved the mythic dimension and contemporary themes in the stories, and I’m proud of the script I wrote. In every phase of production, including the editing, working with Louis Leterrier has been wonderful…I’ve never had a better partner, and the collaboration with all the rest of the creative team has been terrific. Every good movie gets forged through collaboration, and different ideas among people who are all committed and respect the validity of each other’s opinions is the heart of filmmaking. Regrettably, our healthy process, which is and should be a private matter, was misrepresented publicly as a ‘dispute,’ seized on by people looking for a good story, and has been distorted to such a degree that it risks distracting from the film itself, which Marvel, Universal and I refuse to let happen. It has always been my firm conviction that films should speak for themselves and that knowing too much about how they are made diminishes the magic of watching them. All of us believe The Incredible Hulk will excite old fans and create new ones and be a huge hit…our focus has always been to deliver the Hulk that people have been waiting for and keep the worldwide love affair with the big green guy going strong.”

I heard the movie was good but I did not watch it. I could not get over the fact that it was a ‘redo’ of the franchise. That bugged the shit outta me.

I will watch it, though, when it comes to rental.

Dead Space - BUY IT.

Well, that’s enough for me.

I’m projecting Thursday.

Remember, we also have Fable II coming out tomorrow. IGN already gave it a great review:

That and the Dark Knight are the only movies left that im going to buy this year unless something comes out that I have over looked.

What about the one for PS3? =)

I really dont see it as a complete “redo”. It really more or less picks up were the last one left off. They just shift the events that happened in the first one around through flash back and replaced the cast. But The Hulk ends with Banner in S. America and this one picks up with him in S. America

The next 2-4 weeks are just crazy with games coming out. We just had Dead Space, then tomorrow we have Fable 2, Far Cry 2 and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. THEN NEXT week GH:World Tour, Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet(havent seen any changes in this so we will see)

Right now Im playing Bad Company, so far really good game

I had no idea it was also out for PS3

I keep thinking titles are still exclusive but these days it is obviously in the developer’s best interests to avoid this.

Dead Space looks sick. Imagine playing that on a gorgeous, ginormous display with surround sound in a pitch black room.

For PS3 owners - Bioshock is coming Oct 21st !!!

Sick game. One of the best story lines I have seen since Half Life re-wrote the fucking book on story lines. Very eerie.

Anyone like Fracture? Looks like Too Human but I don’t know the differences in game play and story elements. Can someone clarify?

I know one of you commented on it but I can’t recall if it was a positive or negative…

I played Fracture and liked it ok but Im not a big shooter fan so it takes something special for me to rent it let a lone buy it.

But I always really like the Armored Core games on PSone and PS2 but I havent played one in a LONG time and i might go pick the new one up. Sounds and looks really good to me and got decent reviews

…still waiting for a releace date for Tekken 6…this is F**KING BS,its out in Japan wtf it taking so long?

The US release is not just T6, it’s also going to include the T5: Dark Resurrection-esque T6: Bloodline update/patch thing released in arcades. Supposed to fix a few frame-rate errors, increased costume/item count, and maybe give a handjob.

I’m not sure about the first two, though.

It’s like Resident Evil 4 + Event Horizon + The Thing.

Well if that is the case then I guess Ill wait…/sigh

Video games ruined my life.

Dead Space, NBA2k9, Lego Batman, Orange Box, Fable 2. All sitting on my shelf - mocking me. Not to mention Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 on the horizon.

I think I came on myself alittle bit when I saw this! I told myself that I would never get overly excited about a nother MMO again after Age of Cona(but is really starting to look up) but how can I not? One of the top 3 vedio game developers + the greates frachise of all time = FUCKEN SWEET!

I hope they take all the time they need to make this game and get it right even if that means pushing it back 1 or 2 years. I done care! Just dont fuck this up!

This might be weird…

But does anyone else’s Fable 2 booklet smell like pine?

Nice batch of games, man. Fallout 3 looks incredible as does Farcry 2. I know this might sound dumb, but I do not know the difference in story lines between Farcry and Crysis; I keep mixing up the two.

Interesting. New book/paper smell, you mean? Or do you feel it is intentional?
