I didn’t mean hardcore as in “haaaaaarrrrrrr!!!” - but as a stronger and meaner overall console.
And I’m sure PS3 has it’s selection of “hardcore” games - MGS4 and GOW come to mind.
Beowulf, if you have xbox live then gears is an awesome game to get, but yeah new one out in november so I’d wait. If you’re into an rpg that is amazing check out The newest Elder Scrolls game Oblivion. That one is guaranteed to keep you occupied for weeks. It is an rpg, but it’s also first person shooter/action/strategy all in one. I’m not a hardcore gamer by any means, but that is a good buy to keep you going until the semester is over.

Perhaps it’s just a personal vendetta, but I’ve had troubles with Sony a LOT in the past. Yes, I do have a PS and PS2, but have had to replace both of them at least once. If I had a choice between a Sony television and any sort of other television, I’d normally go with Brand B. I don’t think anyone can deny that Sony jacks their prices up mean (I see fierce markups at Best Buy,) and when the PS3 came out at $600 a pop they lost a LOT of my respect, especially when they had some pretty lackluster launch titles.
I have said, though, that I will be giving my business to Sony whenever either God of War III or Kingdom Hearts III comes out… but hopefully for around $300, the price a PS3 should be at tops.
I have a Japanese friend who said Sony is regarded as a second-tier electronics company in Japan. Panasonic and Mitsubishi are rated much higher.
In fact, a buddy of mine who was a EE major at UCLA said some guest lecturer mentioned an interesting fact:
Roughly 90% of the world’s electronics have at least one part manufactured by Mitsubishi.
Don’t know how true it is, but pretty interesting if that is the case.

Well I know Windows is shit. I thought you were talking about their games. I like both systems I just think Xbox 360 is superior. I will eventually get a ps3 because its a cheap blu-ray player. And of course for God of War , Socom, and Metal Gear Solid. But overall I think Xbox 360 has better games and their online system is on a different level then the rest.

The 360 has been out what? Alittle over a year longer? And how many stand out games does it really have? GOW, Halo 3(in name only its not a great game)Blue Dragon maybe but i bet only about 10% of 360 owners played it and 80% never heard of it. What else give me a hand here b/c I cant really think of any more off the top of my head(Been up all night) And sure you have Fable 2 coming out now but really what exclusives does 360 really have that are system sellers?(now or coming)
The PS3 has MGS4, Little Big Planet, SOCOM, God of War, Tekken, FF XIII, and Killzone 2.
As far as online and what not, I think the PS3’s interface is much more user friendly than the 360s. Online play them selves are even as far as I have seen. The only online advantage the 360 really has is its Market Place>PSN Store but I dont think that is a big deal. And whats with the MS points any way? Can you get them any other way than paying for them? Why not just call it fucking money?
I dont think I need to speak of the systems them selves b/c that been established. All Ill say is I know 2 ppl who have had to send theirs back 3 times appease.
I dont have anything really against the 360 but its not this supper hard core gamming platform that ppl make it out to be. It just has a shit load of shooters and last time I checked playing a shit tone of Halo or Gears does not make you “Hardcore”
Edit- O, Mass Effect. Ill give you that even though both that and Gears were better on PC. And all the extra down load able stuff you get from XBL is not from MS its from the game devs and that gap is closing

It’s a pretty old game but I just bought Crackdown and JESUS CHRIST is it a whole lot of fun. And it’s hella cheap too, got if off amazon for $16 w/ shipping. Still more money for you to get another used game, or full price one if your budget allows.
