McDonalds has Star Wars Happy Meal toys right now. Even more enticing, up next (September) are Batman Legos.
My nostalgic inner child still craves crap like that. While I wouldn’t mind having a Chewbacca on my desk, I am not so enticed by the Star Wars stuff somehow. I used to love Star Wars and still enjoy the movies but I guess I am not so attached to the characters anymore as much as I am interested in the story.
On the other hand, something about the prospect of Batman dueling it out with the Joker, in Lego form, on my desk (or even better on a shelf at work) seems wickedly awesome in a slightly twisted sort of way.
No way am I going to eat McDonalds though. The only option would seem to be finding a fat girl that loves McDonalds and delighting her with surprise Happy Meals several times a week until I have the whole set.
I thought I had ceased to be a romantic years ago.

OK, I got the PS3 and Spiderman 3…and this shit is crazy. I’ll pick up GTA this weekend but I honestly can’t believe the level of detail in this game. You can see the reflections in the windows and the texture of the bricks on the buildings.
PS4 is just going to be you standing naked in an empty room getting hit with solid light technology and holograms.
What made you side with the PS3 over the 360? Blu-Ray and a PS2 owner?

Blu Ray and why change systems for no reason? I don’t really like first person shooter games. Even if I did, Haze is a good one on PS3 as well as others.
I like the Blu Ray player a lot. They made the controls on the system like the PSP tech controls…very easy to use. It might as well be another computer. The wireless controls and Blue Tooth remote are cool as hell.

Glad to see you picked a system. Do you have an HD TV to go along with all those killer graphics? I am still on the fence on which system to go with, and what games to buy. Also, you mentioned PS4, do you know of one in the works? Or were you kidding around? Sorry not trying to sounds stupid, just didnt want to assume anything.

If you can get your PS3 online, there are loads of demos on the Playstation Store you can download for free and check out before you buy / rent.
I recommend Uncharted : Drake’s Fortune, Burnout Paradise, and Folklore - all of which have demos that you can download.
Also … did your PS3 come with the Dualshock 3 or just the regular Sixaxis controller?
I waited so late because I didn’t have the hd.
I was joking about the PS4. I just really can’t see much to improve upon that would need another system beyond this without delving into true virtual reality.
I’m a professional pen tester (white hat hacker), so I think I’ve got y’all beat in the geek department… but four years ago I swore I wasn’t going to die a short fat geek.
Just my Opinion, but Gears of War was an over rated. There wasnt much substance there, not much story and it was just another shooter in the Third person.
Thats one of the reason I always thought the PS3 was or would be a better system than 360. The only notable exclusives 360 has is Gears and Halo3 but once more, just shooters and what do they have coming that will make you turn your head?
PS3 has MGS4, Uncharted, Resistance and on deck they have Tekken 6, Kill Zone 2, FFXIII. Plus you have all the other cross platform games like Call of Duty 4, GTA and others.
So will it be play a great or good shooter? Or will it be play great Shooters, Shooter/stealth games, RPGs and fighters? O and dont forget the Best Blur-Ray player on the market and the only one that I know of that updates itself.
(Edit) Wait I forgot 360 had Mass Efect but I played it on my PC and It looked and played better plus I didnt have to pay 400 MS points(not sure how much that is in $) to get the update/add on, so 360 looses again.

I would have liked a little more explanation on the world (whether it’s “earth” or a colonized planet, and the governmental structure (too much information was put out in the pre-release packages, not to be included in the non-special-edition game).

Well, I think I’m going to take the plunge and get a Wii, now that it appears that there are several good sports titles on the system.
Madden 09 sounds really good from the impressions I’ve read, and I think EA finally has a good build of Tiger Woods for this year. 2k is bringing over NHL 2k9 and it looks interesting and then there’s MLB Power Pros.
I really don’t have that much free time on my hands, yet I’m talking about buying another system when I already have a 360, DS and PSP. Weird how that works.
