If he fucks up Zuko’s character, I will hunt him down and kill him. I don’t like him as a director, but Avatar is probably my favorite American made cartoon series.

It’s going to be hard to pull off in many ways. Plus, a lot of the characters are going to seem weird with different voices.

As long as he is true to the story, however, the plot should be fine.

I said the same thing about Bay and Transformers…now looking at Transformers 2 Im still saying to my self “Michael Bay if you Fuck this up for me!!”

Avatar, as I’ve mentioned before, is quite possibly one of the best long running series I’ve seen. These aren’t individual episodes in the sense that everything is resolved in 30min. If you catch it half way through, then you’ve missed very important parts of the story.

If you haven’t watched it at all and actually gotten into it, you may not catch how deep it is simply because it is animated.

I think Shayamalan is talented. I think Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense show he has it in him. He just believes too much of his own hype for some of this shit. Even the Village wasn’t a bad story in and of itself…it just was not a “Horror Movie” like it was marketed. They should have sold that shit like a drama.

I like Avatar. Which is why I cringe when I hear the words “live action version”. Going from 3 seasons to 3 movies is still a lot of compression. I just get on edge when Hollywood sees something good/great and decides they can make it better.

It shouldn’t be too hard to condense. Avatar is plot driven, but it’s best features are its characters. Nail the characters, and the overall plot is pretty hard to fuck up.

It’s the character driven subplots - Zuko’s torn soul, Aang’s destroyed childhood, Sokka and Katar’s innocence being stolen, Toph accepting help - that are quite easily fucked.

They’ll have to eliminate a lot of characters. I doubt we’ll get Yue, and Suki is only a possibility. Mai and Ty Lee are also not likely as anything more than small parts. And Jet is probably not going to appear at all.

If they concentrate on the main characters development - Aang, Sokka, Katara, Zuko, Iroh, Azula and Toph, they should be ok.

Zuko’s evil sister and her two friends are very important characters. Leaving them out will take away a great deal from the story telling. There is so much they could do with just those three. Their friendship was screwed in the last released episodes on dvd.

I’m happy this is even a consideration because I really like that show. I just hope they do it right. I’ll still be in the movie theater when it is finally released.

…also, did anyone expect Zuko’s uncle to be a bad ass?

Gangster his training in that prison cell was insane. I guess that was why he was the legendary general.

Also a new game is in development. “Dead space” heard of it? Its really good IMO, and i dont like many games haha.

Oh wow that is cool

For you Avatar fans out there:

Here is the Season 3 trailor

And a indepth interview with M. Night about his vision for Avatar. It would seem like he is a real fan and is trying to stay as true to the source material as possible.

Thanks.

For what it’s worth, I hate to see it finally come to an end.

So, what do you guys think Blizzard entertainment is planning for this weekend?

The ice has been opening up more every single day

My guess would be some more info about the new WoW expansion. The ice seems to match with the Frozen Throne.

Ah, I missed those until you pointed them out. Perhaps an announcement about several games then.

Great series always seem to end too early.

Remember Gargoyles, they ended on a high note initially, Disney forced another season and it left a bad taste in the mouth of the fans.

I’m sure a spinoff of Avatar can be tastefully done. They have a wealth of characters to choose from. I would love to see a series based on Avatar Roku.

Diablo 3 was announced today and the gameplay looks FANTASTIC.

I’m so psyched about this game, that I’m building a new computer just for it.

Wanted to share my little reversion back to childhood at the gym today (usually I only act like a child at work).

I loaded the Star Wars soundtrack on the MP3 player.

In between a set, I walked around the track with 2 10# dumbbells that look like little T.I.E. Fighters.

As I walked, I made them do flight patterns and I proceeded to ‘shoot’ at the folks on the treadmills and ellipticals. T.I.E. engine screeches and laser blaster sounds abound.

A couple people chuckled, but got a few looks of terror

Sweet! I need to buy a new computer anyway, so between that and Starcraft 2, I have two other good reasons (besides actually needing a new computer. This PC is on its last leg.)

You didn’t get a picture of the weights? I want to see dumbells that look like TIE Fighters (one of my favorite PC games of all time, BTW).
