I’m driving down to Claxton, GA (From KY) in 30 minutes to pick up about 2000 comics my aunt and uncle are giving me. I think that counts as geeky.

…only if you read them all and store them properly afterwards.

What if I open a comic store and use them to raise some capital/build an archive, instead?

I think that would qualify as both geeky and awesome.[/quote]

Be sure to check this thread somewhere between 6 and 10 months from now. I will show you geeky + awesome.

Fuck yeah!!!

Anyone play with the Spore creature creator yet? I’m downloading it right now. The videos I’ve seem look amazing.

If Marvel does this I swear I will never give them another dime
Leonardo Dicaprio as Captain America???

Sweet Expandable Christ. Marvel hates America. First, they kill the guy’s kid sidekick, take away his super-solider serum and give the Red Skull a clone-copy of his serum-enhanced frame, then they kill him, THEN they even entertain the idea of “Don’t Let Go” being on the same screen as the vibranium/adamantium shield of badassery?!

Joe Quieseda should have stopped at Marvel Knights 2: The Suckening.

At least “Ash” was good, right?

(prays for Captain America to be played by a real-life super-soldier crafted of America and awesomeness)

He’s not a bad actor. I’d cast him as a pre-serum Captain if anything.

To add to the geekiness, have some speculation.

Oooooo! Naybe they could have his shield be entirely energy?!

Wait, that sucked, too. One solid shield, one dose of serum & radiation, and a skinny, well-meaning guy stomping the pelvis’ of the Nazis and other ne’er-do-wells, please.

ftw.

What I wrote in the Iron Man thread:

SCENE: S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters:

An imposing figure obscured by an ice block sits in the middle of an unknown room. Scientist look on, making notes and monitoring the vital signs of whatever is trapped in the ice.

Tony Stark, Nick Fury, Bruce Banner walk in. Stark and Banner can’t help but look on in awe at the massive bulk encapsulated by the frozen ocean water. Stark carries a shield… the outside face is not shown.

Partially visible fingers start to move. Tony Stark looks at Nick Fury as bead after bead of cold water begin to descend down the ice block…

“General, I think we’ve found our leader.”

The ice cracks… fine hairline fractures begin to spread across the block of ice containing America’s greatest hero…

Tony drops the shield, and it rolls to face the screen…

Cut to black screen…

Of course in my story, Captain America then walks in, and we realize it’s actually Professor X in the ice.

Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes
Season one is on DVD now.

Mind you, I mean the 2006 version of the characters. they actually did a decent job with this one.

You liked it? With the spray pained 4 on the thing? When I saw that I cried. I liked the 90’s one that was shown with Iron Man. Little bit of trivia the guy who voiced Mr Fantastic was also the guy who voiced Superman in the 80’s Man of Steel cartoon

Actually sit through a few episodes and you will probably like it too. they also included 7 unaired episodes in the package.

They did a decent job of making it “light hearted” yet true to the comics. I haven’t watched the entire season yet, but I’ve already seen She Hulk in the uniform, Mole Man, Iron Man, Namor, Claw (involved with Black Panther) and several others.

Why get hung up on thing having the ‘four’ painted on?

It reminds me of the 90’s when everything was EXTREME!!! It’s tough to explain it any other way

That’s honestly NOT how they did this show. The animation is pretty damn good for a series like this and they actually have personalities.

The Hulk vs Thing was a decent episode also.

I’m sure it’s not I just happen to like my comic adaptions as close to the orginal as possible

Man, just give it a try. I wouldn’t have put it here if I thought it sucked. It also isn’t childish even though there is nothing a kid shouldn’t see.

If this was written for 8 year olds, I wouldn’t have mentioned it. They stick pretty damn close to the comics. The biggest updates are in their appearance…and how assertive the Invisible Woman is.

Johnny is still a big kid who jokes too much and Reed is the smartest man in the planet next to Von Doom.

Isn’t Reed supposed to be Von Doom’s equal? Perhaps even a tad smarter?

I don’t think they’ve ever actually confirmed who is smarter…but Reed invents way cooler shit.

Word. He’s also one bad muthafucka.
