Okay, for those of you that are getting The Dark Knight on Tuesday, here are the exclusives I’ve heard about.

This BAT-POD packaging will be at both Best Buy and Target. It’s about $50 and only on Blu-Ray.
They are going to make so much money from this it may just be ungodly.

They should include Legder’s pill bottle in just one of the packages as a surprise like a WIlly Wonka golden ticket.

(too soon?)

After the DVD’s been out for a few months, I would love to know how much total profit this movie brought in. A billion dollars?

Yeah, wasn’t it the highest grossing weekend debut for a movie of all time? Or at least I swear they throw around that title every year when a big movie opens…

Guys, I have the sickest mix I’ve ever heard. Literally a half dozen genres or something, all kinds of moods and it flows so damn well…it’s a 66 min track.

There’s a badass cover of Sexual Healing done with a few saxophones and all jazzed up. Very cool and it segues into some old school hip hop.

Link?

I’d have to upload it somewhere…

…and could they release this at a better time of the year?

On a side note, they need to have a commercial where they kill off the guy who played Superman last time just to show that the next attempt will be better. That along with a public apology might just repair the damage that last piece of shit did to the psyche of this country.
The Dark Knight Returns
Warner Bros. announced re-release plans.
by IGN Movies

December 5, 2008 - The Dark Knight is coming back to theaters and IMAX on January 23, 2009, Warner Bros. announced today.

The return engagement will give audiences another chance to fully experience the acclaimed comic-to-screen adaptation the way it was intended – that’s the official line. The ulterior motive is, of course, to give the film another shot at getting noticed by Academy voters.

“The Dark Knight is a crowning achievement in every sense of the word. We wanted to provide one more opportunity for moviegoers to experience it on the big screen as it was meant to be seen,” said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. Pictures President of Domestic Distribution.

It was not announced how widely the film would be released, but we expect that it won’t be hard to find a screening near you.

Thus far, TDK has amassed a domestic box office take of $530.3 million. It needs to make around $71 million to beat Titanic and become the highest-grossing movie of all time (not adjusted for inflation).
Was that last sentence a typo? Did they mean “$71 billion” or has it already surpassed Titanic by that much?

The trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum

The visuals look awesome, I’m hoping the gameplay won’t be a let down.

Has any movie even grossed over several billion dollars over its lifetime? I mean, besides Star Wars…

Not adjusted for inflation? The Lord or the Rings films. Return of the King made $1.1 billion worldwide. Two Towers was $925 million and Fellowship was $870 million. That’s just theatrically. Add the DVD sales to that and I’m sure it’s a lot higher.

I still don’t understand how Titanic grossed $600 million domestically though. I don’t know anyone that saw that movie multiple times in the theater.

Never underestimate the financial power of middle class teenage girls. I have no doubt that hoards of 14 year olds across the country giggled and screeched their way through 20+ viewings of that movie apiece.

Jeez! And to think people gave me shit for seeing the Star Wars prequels a few times each in the theater.

Teenage girls are the workhorses of this economy.

In fact, that the economy is in shambles…we should blame them for it somehow.

$74 billion to save Citi Bank? How many more Miley Cyrus concerts should have been thrown to total up that amount?

It would’ve been doable.

And an excited fan. I think I watched Phantom Menace 3-4 times before it finally settled in that it wasn’t good. Attack of the Clones though, I was done with after the second viewing. Revenge of the Sith was okay, so I think I sat though that 4-5 times in the theater. RoTS was the best of the prequels, but that’s not saying much. It could have been a lot better if the first two had actually done a better job of setting everything up. That’s a conversation for another time though.

And from the sounds of it…it’s a long conversation
