Too bad I don’t really have time to play it.

Leaving work a little early, meeting the wife for a late lunch then going to Game stop.
Delivery status: Delivered at front door
Tempted to skip the gym tonight to play. Won’t be able to get at it until the weekend otherwise. Oh well.
Maybe that will give me time to return X-men for cash.
When’s PS due for an upgrade? Will this season’s unit be good for awhile?
Biollante might be the monster Godzilla fights in the reboot, this is cool in for two reasons, a)Biollante was the monster Godzilla fought in the Godzilla '85 sequal, and b) Godzilla vs Biollante in one of the only films NOT available on DVD in the US(I got it on VHS oldschool baby)

They upgrade regularly on line. I doubt they will even need think about a “PS4” for another 3 or 4 years (MAYBE 2 if they rush marketing).

I’ve seen some articles on Microsoft’s recent hire’s that suggest the next Xbox is in development. I’d guess Sony is close behind especially since Nintendo’s new system will be out I believe next year. I’d put money on a new system not coming out at least until 2013 for Sony.

Be sure to download the Catwoman stuff before you start playing. It’s a free download; for some reason it’s not on the disc. Not having that download will change the beginning of the game.
Overall Arkham City is a frakking bad ass game.

One aspect of the Dark Knightâ??s latest adventure that has found itself the subject of controversy is the way it handles the Catwoman segments of the game. These are unlocked with a â??VIP Pass,â?? a redemption code printed on a sheet of paper inside new copies of the game. Gamers who rent, borrow or buy a used copy of Arkham City will have to pay an extra $10 for the code. And those who canâ??t connect their consoles to the Internet will be unable to experience the story of Batmanâ??s feline rival.

MS is working on the next Xbox already, probably due out in 2013.
Sony should be doing the same if they want a fighting chance, especially what services Xbox will offer within a year or 2. A unified interface between the console, Win8 and the WinPhone, in addition to Xbox coming to Windows 8 next year.

Ya I’d expect that Sony won’t let their launch happen so far behind MS this generation. I wouldn’t be surprised to see both of them land in 2014 though, I don’t think they are intimidated at all by Nintendo’s advanced schedule as the Wii/WiiU have essentially become a different ‘thing’ that isn’t so much direct competition anymore(even given Nintendo’s assurance they will market to the hardcore gamer I just don’t see it, 3rd party will stick with sony/ms).

I doubt the next generation of consoles will see a release prior to 2015. There is no need for one, nor any real demand for them. The PS3 was always meant to be a 10 year machine. The 360 was originally slated to a have a 7 year lifetime, but that’s been pushed to 10 as well. The Kinnect hasn’t even been out for a full year. The developers still have plenty of horsepower left to tap with both machines, so they’re not pushing for new hardware. The WII U only brings Nintendo into the same ballpark that the PS3 and 360 have been playing in for the 5-6 years. I’d be willing to bet that both companies would prefer to build an add-on tablet computer accessory prior to building a new console.
Honestly what could they put in the next gen consoles that would be so great? 2160p resolution? Getting rid of disc drives? Cloud gaming using Sony or Microsoft server farms? World of Warcraft for consoles? The only drawback to the 360 right now is the reliance on DVDs for it’s physical media storage.
Every article about the development of new consoles always seems to start with,“…an unknown industry insider that attended a â??high levelâ?? meeting…”
^Agreed. I really don’t see the point in a new system right now when they ahven’t even figured out how to take full advantage of this one.
They hit a target market with older guys over 25 who bought the PS3. It looks like an adult machine and not a toy. Their next console had better be a completely different animal because honestly, I get what I need as it is…blue ray, web surfing, HD, games, music, pictures, Netflix.
I mean, what would even make me want another console right now?

Cool, 'cause Santa Claus is seriously considering dropping off a PS3 to replace the damned Wii.

Only singling out this point, I don’t think it’s as true as you think. The graphical chasm between PC and this console generation is widening at an alarming rate. Even though Sony/MS both see their consoles as having ‘life’ left in them, if they don’t put new hardware out soon they will be dwarfed by exceptionally cheap PCs(a $400 machine can get you BF3 at high graphics settings and steady frames, and PC parts go down in price much faster).
If they play the waiting game for 3 more years they are risking losing the foothold that has essentially revitalized the console as a system in the first place(FPS’s - no I’m not saying consoles don’t have other good games, but they became the console movers where they used to be a PC staple).

Are you going to beat his ass for bringing a wii in the first place?

I don’t think many Xbox or Playstation users will be jumping ship and playing more computer games because the graphics are better. There will always be a huge amount of people who specifically only play on a gaming console. Like Professor X said, I love my PS3. It plays blu rays, tons of games, digital movies, netflix, etc… I agree with others when I don’t think a newer generation console needs to come out soon. I’d say maybe 2013-2014 at the earliest.

I said above 2014 is when I expect it personally. I think 2015 and beyond is just waiting far too long. Graphics may not be so crazy right now, but given more time it has a huge effect. There’s more to it then just graphics, but it is the issue the points out the hardware gap the most effectively so it’s easier to just cite them.
