Geek S**T The SIXTH

Anyone else playing Rage?

At least one other person.

I’m downloading it now. Even though it received less than stellar reviews, it looks fun and want to try it out.

A SHIELD movie would suck three different sizes and shapes of kangaroo dick. It’s a secret agency. See behind the curtain? Not so secret. All the little “secret agency” shenanigans in every Marvel movie? No longer funny.

And Nick “Bad Motherfucker” Fury, Agent of SHIELD is shooting a rocket launcher at what is probably a Skrull in the Avengers trailer.

No one gives a shit what he does when he’s not wrangling super-heroes - it’s boring and it would suck.[/quote]

They wouldn’t have to show the inner workings of SHIELD. You know SHIELD doesn’t always call the capes for help when shit goes down.

There’s tons of ways they could also use a SHIELD movie. They could use it as a way to introduce more characters into the Marvel movie world. Like Dr.Doom & Latveria and Black Panther (Get Micheal Jai White to play him).

They could tie in established Marvel series like Spider Man, X-Men, or even reboot the Fantastic Four (not my personal fav but I think it would make money)

Movies generally work when it’s about David beating Goliath. Making a movie about Goliath beating a bunch of peons isn’t really all that interesting. That’s what making a movie about SHIELD would be. A massive government agency flying around the world getting rid of the little upstarts. SHIELD really isn’t that interesting, hence why they don’t have their own comic book. Now making a movie about Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos should have some appeal. Especially since we saw a lot of those commandos in the Captain America movie.

In the comics SHIELD pretty much always calls the Superheroes in to do any kind of work. SHIELD agents are mostly cannon fodder to be killed or rescued by those in tights. During Civil War SHIELD employed superheroes like Ms Marvel to take out other superheroes. SHIELD is a great story telling element and plot device for other characters or teams to work with, but would is pretty weak standing on its own.

Having Marvel Studios tie into the Spider-Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four franchises would be a legal nightmare, and would suck more donkey cock than the whores of Boystown in Mexico. Sony owns Spider-Man, 20th Century Fox has X-Men, Deadpool, and F4 (that includes Dr Doom). Bringing major corporations like that together to work out an agreement to share a film would be like asking the 3 Stooges to stop hitting each other. Who would want that kind of headache? Plus Marvel Studios would have to drastically reduce the quality of their film and story telling to match what the hacks have done to X-Men, F4, and Spidey.

Not sure… nothing in her CV screams “Thor”. She’s a unknown quantity in the sense that all of Marvel’s previous directors were chosen for very specific reasons:

Favreau for his indie sensibilities and experience with effects-heavy movies (Zathura); Leterrier for his action credentials; Branagh for his Shakespearean background; Johnston for his work on The Rocketeer and now Whedon for his experience as a comic book geek and ability to balance large casts (Serenity).

It’s not immediately apparent why she’s a frontrunner. There was talk of one of the Game of Thrones directors taking over from Branagh. That made sense as soon as I read it…

Coming into this way late… but to me, the real warning bells are ringing for who they’ve gotten as a script writer. They’ve chucked the prior writers under the bus (one of whom was also responsible for X-Men: First Class), and went with the genius responsible for “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and the second Fantastic Four movie. It’s like a flashback to the old days when Marvel seemed incapable of making a decent movie or TV show.

I’m sad that Brannaugh left, he was supposed to direct the sequals to Thor and he wanted to Rangnarock but Marvel put the kibosh on that due to Thor making box office bank

Don’t know if anyone watches Transformers Prime on the Hub but season ended on Saturday with Optimus unleashing the power of the matrix to stop Unicron who was actually the “planet seed” that created Earth. After he whopped ass Prime lost his memories of being a Prime and went back to being Orion Pax, friend of Megatronus(Megatron) this is what is coming up

Yeah… I already posted about the dubious choice of writers. One harsh lesson I’ve learned in life is that people aren’t always given due credit for their contribution. People are very quick to pat themselves on the back.

Even though it isn’t that easy to do, it’s apparently easier than patting someone else on the back. Sticking a foot up someone else’s ass is even easier…

Marvel couldn’t make decent live-action in the old days because they didn’t - they sold most of the rights off to avoid bankruptcy.

Holy Crap! They brought in Unicron in season 1? Damn.

I stopped watching when I canceled my cable service. I figured I’d buy season 1 when it was released to DVD.

Just got back from picking up Arkham City. Downloading the Catwoman stuff now…

Finally! I am BATMAN!

My only complaint is I want more Transformers I know the original series was one big commercial but damnit if it wasn’t awesome seeing an ass load of robots fighting another ass load of robots, in Prime we get 5 autobots and Ratchet doesn’t even go out to fight.
