Geek S**T The SIXTH

Also, for the TMNT fans (and Cap fans, for that matter), I thought this was pretty cool. Stumbled across a Peter Laird interview and he said he’d like to see the live-action films revived and he would like Sarah Michelle Geller and, wait for it . . . Chris Evans to reprise their roles as April O’Neil and Casey Jones from the CGI film.

It’s a pretty old interview, though (June of last year). I know it’s probably another pipe dream of the movie industry that will get lost in development, but one can always hope.

Chris Evans and TMNT, FTW!

Nice setup man. I’m using something very similar (i7 920 @ 3,4ghz, GTX 485 and 12gb ram), but I’m very envious on the invite. Battlefield 3 looks bad ass. Definitely looking to pick that up with MW3.

On an unrelated note, I’ve been invited to a market research gathering of around 16 people in London the 10th of August for the Windows Phone. Ã???Ã???Ã??Ã?£60 for our trouble and we get some surprises too, supposedly.

Being a tech geek, I hope they show us the upcoming phones and then some. It’s going to be sweet, finally I can give MS my opinion 1st hand.
Yeah nice set you have as well. My mobo maxes out at 16 gigs of RAM and that will likely be my next upgrade soon.
If you haven’t already, be sure to get yourself a Solid State Drive when you can. I have a little 80gb as my primary, and a 1TB for all my files. The difference in responsiveness is just amazing.

This should hold me through for another 3 or so years.
Nice setup man. I just looked into purchasing 2 8gb sticks of ram…$400!!! Wow. 8 will do for now…I also saw two 6 gb sticks for just $100, so that will most likely be my next upgrade instead of right to the 16.

That’s also a great idea to have a SSD. Did you essentially just install your OS and drivers etc on the solid state and your games and pictures on your 1TB HD? I’ll have to think about doing that too…
^^^^ Yup this is what I have too.

ALso, no wai!, that 16 gigs cost you 400.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This is the one of the two that I expected to be a joke . . . and it’s still awesome. Other than the few cheesy one-liners and “Gnarly!,” “Bodacious!,” etc. stuff(I know that’s an element of the characters/comics, but it was just overdone here), this movie was still really good, in my opinion. For an intended “kids movie,” anyway. Too bad they ruined it with II and III.
Woah woah woah, did you just say that Secret of the Ooze helped ruin the franchise? Best movie ever.

Don’t be mad cause Vanilla Ice was stylin on you at the end of the movie.

When does Diablo 3 come out??

No day scheduled, but i’m pissed off with the YOU HAVE TO BE ONLINE ALL THE TIME, as i’m a more single-player oriented gamer.

What if my internet connection snaps on the middle of saturday at 2am? NERDRAGE!!!

Still unannounced, beta announcement should be any day now which means holiday release is likely; which then means that being pushed back to early January is likely.

That’s essentially the exact schedule that every WoW expansion has followed: Closed beta w/ NDA from some time til fall, NDA lifted but still invite only beta til late Octoberish, release supposed to be mid December gets pushed back til around MLK weekend give or take.

Cataclysm managed to stay on schedule and release in December, but I think that might honestly be the first Blizz game ever to not be delayed(maybe because the official release date wasn’t announced until like, mid November?).

Q12012 would be the ‘educated’ guess, it’s essentially still a holiday season as far as gift buying goes(instead of buying to give for x-mas, kids with cash go buy it after) and it won’t compete for sales with other heavy hitters. It’s almost like they do it on purpose.

16 gigs may not cost $400, however, I only have 2 slots, so 2 sticks of 8 gigs of ram seems to run about $400 at the moment.

Fuck Diablo III as well. Blizzard is really starting to piss me off for a myriad of small reasons. Primarily because Diablo 3 has been “TBA” since I was still in pre-school and now because you have to be online to play and also their micropurchase system, i.e. if you want the best gear, you have to literally pay for it out of your wallet.

You could get a high end motherboard and 2x4 gigs for less than that. $400 is a lot of money.

And what kind of stuff do you do that takes up more than 8 gigs?

I hope the Iron Man and Wolverine anime’s on G4 are a hit so we can get these two

I do have 2 sticks x 4 gigs at the moment. I would never even consider $400 for 16 gigs of ram…especially when I mentioned in a previous post that I found 2 sticks x 6 gigs for just $120. It’s really been more of a project of mine (building a bigger/better computer), so you’re right…I would never personally use close to 8 gigs at a time…

Anyone else looking forward to Deus Ex?

Yes, in large part because nothing else is even on my radar again until Gears 3 about a month later. Which I will play the shit out of.

First picture of Henry Cavill as Superman

Yes when does it come out?

whats with the superman suit… looks like kevlar

I think it’s the same plastic look like Spiderman had or it could reflect the DC reboot Superman has an armor looking costume now

That should be Kirby, fuck Lee didn’t even write Captain America until issue 4

ANyone remember this? It was shown once late night and it is in the same vein as the Batman and Robin show of the 60’s(BUrt Ward and Adam West actually reprise their roles). It’s cheesy and it is meant to be cheesy they did this then they did a roast which is also surprisingly funny without any foul language at all
