Great. Didn’t take them long. I remember waiting for ages for a Fallout patch.

Got DI last week and wasn’t fun playing it with all the bugs. Extremely frustrating. I just gave up.

Can’t believe testing is not done thoroughly before release date. But I guess they had deadlines to meet and they just think, ‘we’ll work on a patch later.’ Not fair at all. It ruins people’s gaming experience.

It was a matter of life and death in the earlier generations, nowadays not so much.

Wait so Derek542 is DJHT or am I tripping balls?

No what else ruin’s a gaming experience? Getting stuck in the stupid fucking sewers. My team mates called it quits for the night, so I thought I’d roam around the island for a bit. Maybe find a crashed airplane. Can I? Fuck NO!!! I gotta hike around these smelly ass sewers. The hell if I know what the story is right now. I sprint thru the sewers, then wind up in a supermarket. Kill a bunch of assholes, and the backdoor of the supermarket leads to? The fucking sewers. So I sprint thru the sewers again and make it to city hall. I kill a bunch more assholes, and the backdoor to city hall leads to? The fucking sewers. A whole damn tropical island was designed to let me roam about as I like, and I can’t get out of these motherfucking sewers. Motherfuckers. Fuck Mike’s hard lemonade, wheres my damn tequila. fucking sewers on a tropical island.

LMFAO!!

I had a similar experience with my glitch. I’m laughing at it now but I swear, I wasn’t back then.

curious what everyone thinks about Deus Ex? I never played the others but I’ve heard good things about the new one. We can’t look at gaming websites here…but I can still get on T-Nation go figure.

I’ve played all 3 series.

Deus Ex, Human Revo 10/10. Get the game and play it like there’s no tomorrow. You won’t regret it.

I played both Challenge and Story options. Truly amazing game. Depending on my schedule, I’ll probably try it again on hard mode.

Only bad things about DX/HR:

-Console Game Style Boss Fights… No stealth option (and I think no melee either) for these… If all you got are the stun gun, tranq rifle and/or PEP… You’re so fucked.
In DX 1 you didn’t even have to fight them, just use the killswitch code words… Laputan Machine baby! (and he was German too… Why are we always the bad guys dammit!)

-Replay value is hmm… Well, if you hack every computer (not even the alarm panels) and/or do a good bit of silent HTH killing/stunning/ ranged non-lethal attacks… Then you get so many XP that you can pretty much get every skill to maximum… And with the max inventory (note: rocket launcher does nothing that EMP grenades don’t do against robots, and it’s useless against bosses, takes up too much space, same for it’s ammo) you can pretty much have all interesting weapons with you.

Even if you don’t go about it that way… Going through the whole game again if you’ve already done a very thorough playthrough once is kind of annoying… Sadly… Not enough actual new/different stuff you can do then.

It’s quite a bit shorter than the first game too, IIRC.

But don’t let any of that stop you, it’s one hell of a fun game. Gotta say that the engine is far more resources hungry (DX 11 problem maybe) than it should be considering the look of the game though… Sloppy programming…
Fortunately, the game was bug free for me with one exception: Crashing due to steam cloud… Disable steam cloud saves for DX HR.

As for the 2 previous games: DX 1 = Fantastic imo (or was back then)… But also somewhat different compared to HR.
DX2 was complete shit by comparison.

Did bethesda make the game by any chance?
I think they have 2 play-testers total, and both have been dead for years.

On a more serious note: I really wish people would put some actual effort into console ports… FUCK Dead Island symbolizes everything that can be done wrong when porting.

X-Men anime has sucked as far as the Wolverine shit. I am NOT looking forward to anything else.

I downloaded the anime Iron Man too and was equally dissatisfied.

Their take on how characters interact with each other is just flat out corny and uncharacteristic.

maybe they will surprise me…[/quote]

Anime… Imo don’t mix well with western comics.

Though they could… But that would require people making them for more than just the money.

If you like first person shooters and Splintercell: Conviction, then you will love this game. What I like is the ability to play the game anyway you like, and there is almost always at least 3 ways to get to the objective. Boss fights being the exception, but there are only four of them in the game. You can upgrade your character’s powers/abilities to match your play style. Stealth Parkour. Ninja Assassin. Tunnel Rat. Mad Hacker. Guns Blazing. I’m firmly convinced that one could play thru the game with no upgrades at all. While it’s much more a stealth game than a shooter, if you’re smart about your engagements you could go thru the whole game guns blazing.

The boss fights are generally the number one complaint because they have to be fought a specific way that may not reflect your play style thru the other 95% of the game. This can make the bosses much more difficult, but far from impossible. Other than that, game play is spot on, and the first 75% of the story is great.

If you like solo campaigns then replay value is pretty high. I’m making a second run thru on the hardest difficulty while focusing on not killing any bad guys of setting off any alarms. I’m also taking the opposite paths then the ones I took in my fist play thru. If the first time I scurried across the catwalks to avoid enemies, this time I’m going thru the ground floor. Right instead of left. This way instead of that. The maps are so big that is changes the whole look of the game, and I’m back to learning patrol routes of guards I never encountered the first time.

If you’re looking for a new game you can do a lot worse than Deus Ex.

One tip for those who’re new to DX:HR:

Unless you play on easy, get dermal armor no matter what style you play. Bossfights (esp the first…)… It’s overall note quite possible to avoid all hits imo (or at least I’ve never managed) and without dermal armor you die REALLY fast (even with max dermal armor on medium difficulty it only takes a few hits from the average mook from a meter or two away to kill you, I do like that about the game… You can’t just completely overrun everything unless you get lucky… Especially on max difficulty).

What up. yes one and the same. I remembered my old login.

i heard the only bad things in Deus Ex are the loading times.

Yes, yes it is. I blame alcohol.

Agent Coulson giving fake spoilers about Avengers good for a chuckle

Dermal plating is over rated. I beat the first boss on the hardest difficulty without it. The best upgrade for the first boss is invisibility. Strategy for Barret: 1. Go Invisible 2. Run around the arena 3. Hide 4. Shoot’em in the back. If Barret doesn’t know where you are he’ll just shoot at your last location.

Are you playing it on PC or console?

Invisibility doesn’t work for me at all on him… (tried during my first playthrough, I was going full on hacking, invis, silent non-lethal)

Or maybe it has since been fixed?
