Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of.

Saints Row 3 looks insane… I can’t wait to create the most absurd gang ever.

Forgot about that one. When is it coming out. That is teh type of game that keeps my interest for a year…free roaming random bullshitting with a gun.
Uh…yeah:
You better finish AC brotherhood quick
Arkham City, Heroes of M&M and Rage are getting me excited. Rage looks like another Borderlands game, so if it offers coop play for me and the missus that’ll be us for like two months!
I’ll have to play A.City when she passes out. Or order some chloroform.

Anybody else getting this? I damn well am. You can actually play online coop up to 4 guys, drop in and play type.
How is Dead Island different/better than Left 4 Dead, other than the fact that I can actually get it on PS3 (fucking Valve)?
Left 4 dead was level oriented with essentially no real story other than the usual back story. You started in one safe house and proceeded to make your way to the next safe house without dying. Left 4 dead is very run and gun oriented, whereas Dead Island is open world, choose the side quests if you want or continue with the main story and has more rpg upgrade components. The weapon system is also more geared toward melee/throwing weapons and less with guns and explosives. There were also no vehicles in Left 4 Dead.
Dead Island is essentially what happens when you combine left 4 dead and another game like fallout.
Ok so it sounds like a first person version of Dead Rising, except without all the comical aspects of killing zombies in it.
I just said that lol
Haha, I didn’t even catch your Gilligans island reference, nice. Definitely like a first person Dead Rising without the humor but set on a tropical island/resort.
Must have games for me are going to be Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Uncharted 3 (I still remember UC2 being like an interactive movie), Dark Souls, Deus Ex, Dead Island (really want a demo since I could see the gameplay of primarily melee becoming tedious) and lets not forget Arkham City. It’s too bad that with being a new father, I’m probably not going to have a chance to play much of even one of these games, let alone all of them. Shit.
I posted a 20 minute video on the previous page.
Basically you can also have co-op drop in. So you can be playing online campaign with 4 people that can drop in and out at any point.
Yes I could see the melee getting tedious if you couldnt mod your weapons.
But who can get tired of electrifying a fucking machete and hacking off arms and heads as seen in the video.
Also it wasnt dark the whole time, I mean it was like being in Cancun during the day and fighting Zombies, and I am sure they will have night time also.
Looks like a good pacing.
Also driving a truck and running over zombies, bonus.

I do want to know where to start to get into the Uncharted series. Are all games necessary or is it like AC where you can bypass the first altogether?
Skip uncharted one in my opinion, didnt like the shooting mechanics. Would be a waste cause it really has very little tie to the second one.
2 is out of this world as far as graphics and playing engine, was ahead of the times for sure.
I like the webshooters but don’t tell me he won’t be able to cling to walls and will need something on his feet?

Stan Lee didn’t give him all of the powers of a spider…plus, honestly, it never made sense for him to cling to walls THROUGH the suit. They didn’t even try to explain that in the Mcgwire movies.
Besides, maybe those are just treads. I know they had to do something different to the suit…and the changes may just help him come across as more of a kid in this one.

\Edit I retract my original comment due to not reading X’s full commnent I apologize. True it could be just a design I just hope he can stick to walls the song does say everything a spider can

Hmmm. It’s taken over two months to just play thru 3/4 of Darksiders. I haven’t had much time to play between work and renovations to the house.

Ever since the first trailer, I’ve been seriously considering getting an Xbox 360 just for this game.
On another zombie-related note, I’ve read some info on the upcoming World War Z movie and, heartbreaking as it is, it sounds like they’re royally fucking it up. Aiming for a PG-13 rating and significantly changing the story/plot.

Yeah I read instead of the aftermath with interwoven stories it’s goign to be the same people come back to life eat other people story. The great thig about Z was how it dealt with the ptsd people had and how the world was forced to change
Love Swamp Thing when it came out back in the day, the most accurate comic film out there actually. I met Adrienne Barbeau at a comic show and I remember telling her how her tits basically jump started me to puberty, she thanked me and said that I was the first person to tell her that in reference to Swamp Thing.
Please don’t fuck this up please…

Completely agree. Skip the first one and just play the second one, then the third.

Definitely. As they’re describing it now, it sounds more like just another zombie movie. The flashback setup with different character storylines had huge potential.
Nice. Bonus points for telling her that directly. Between Swamp Thing, The Fog, and Creepshow, she definitely played a key part in my growing up. nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Although, what I remember most from Swamp Thing was that little Bruno pig dude. I think that was the first time I saw a midget. Freaked me way the hell out.

…but it stars Brad Pitt. That’s cool. Right?
