So it seems James Gunn and Suda 51 reached into my brain and made a video game of what they found…

I’ll still be finishing up Darksiders, then playing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, then I’ll finish Beyond Good & Evil HD, then maybe another Xbox arcade game like Dust or Bastion or Outworld, then the last Castlevania they made, and eventually I will play a game that was made in 2011.

I just watched those Voltron episodes on Netflix. The character interaction was pretty shallow, nowhere near the depth we saw in Avatar: The Last Airbender and similar modern cartoons.

That’s what I mean. I was watching Thundercats and didn’t feel like they dumbed it down for kids or as if I should be shamed watching it. They didn’t show blood but they blew people up and left no bodies remaining. GI Joe never did that…even though it was the first time I even saw someone get shot on a cartoon.
X I was wanting your opinion on Dead Island any thoughts? In case you missed it I posted a video a couple of posts up.

We’ll be playing the game of life. And some people are playing it more than other
Raf, Pootie[/quote]
Raf, Raf’s buddy, and I played Black Ops this weekend. Alcohol fueled fun was had by all.
That Dead Island video was boring as hell. I couldn’t even finish watching the whole thing. It looks like a slow paced Dead Rising: Gilligan’s Island edition. The only must have games for me are Saint’s Row 3 and maybe the new Deus Ex.
Everything else can wait til they go on sale.

if that’s the same game I posted that clip from months ago, I may have to check into it (the zombies?). I just hate scary games. I was scared shitless from resident Evil. Never played the sequels. the background music is what gets me…and surround sound just makes it worse. the more real the game, the more I think of it when not playing it.
I’ll check more into it…but if it is the same feel as RE, I may avoid it. If it is like living on the set of Dawn of the dead, I may pick it up.

Hell yes, this game is going to be interesting. It’s much more like dawn of the dead and less like the resident evil games. Watch that clip. It’s open world, first person, story/exploration driven.
Then yeah…it will now be added right behind Arkham City. There’s nothing else I am really looking forward to.
I have that new open world X-men game on pre-order and I have heard good things about it.

Link?
I’ve heard nothing but lukewarm impressions of it.

Anybody else getting this? I damn well am. You can actually play online coop up to 4 guys, drop in and play type.

How is Dead Island different/better than Left 4 Dead, other than the fact that I can actually get it on PS3 (fucking Valve)?

Left 4 dead was level oriented with essentially no real story other than the usual back story. You started in one safe house and proceeded to make your way to the next safe house without dying. Left 4 dead is very run and gun oriented, whereas Dead Island is open world, choose the side quests if you want or continue with the main story and has more rpg upgrade components. The weapon system is also more geared toward melee/throwing weapons and less with guns and explosives. There were also no vehicles in Left 4 Dead.
Dead Island is essentially what happens when you combine left 4 dead and another game like fallout.

It is absolutely nothing like L4D, like, their only similarities is that the enemies are called zombies. Go check out some vids on gametrailers.com or something.
As to games I’ll be playing this holiday season: way too many. This year is absolutely stacked. Skyrim, Uncharted 3, BF3 are guaranteed buys in late October-early November, and games I’ll be putting good time into so definitely playing through the holidays(maybe I can beat Skyrim/UC3 campaigns, then put off going back to them for replaying/multiplayer later). Throw in Dark Souls coming out soonish, if it maintains Demon’s Souls replayability(through build diversity and the fun of BP Invasion and Red Stone duels) it will garner some side time as well. Then there’s the wildcards: Diablo3 and DotA2 both starting beta invites any day now, and possible Q4 releases. If those come out it’s done, I’m quitting life and hiding in a monitor lit screen as a hermit who escapes to lift weights and purchase sustenance =p

Ok so it sounds like a first person version of Dead Rising, except without all the comical aspects of killing zombies in it.

I just said that lol
Edit: Fail. Posted BF3 gameplay but it’s on page 9.

Haha, I didn’t even catch your Gilligans island reference, nice. Definitely like a first person Dead Rising without the humor but set on a tropical island/resort.
Must have games for me are going to be Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Uncharted 3 (I still remember UC2 being like an interactive movie), Dark Souls, Deus Ex, Dead Island (really want a demo since I could see the gameplay of primarily melee becoming tedious) and lets not forget Arkham City. It’s too bad that with being a new father, I’m probably not going to have a chance to play much of even one of these games, let alone all of them. Shit.

I just bought AC Brotherhood, so will get into that in a couple months, lol.
Definitely thinking that Battlefield 3 and Saints 3 are going to be epic, and are on my list.
AC Brotherhood will take a good month out of your life if you really get into it. The Sony blackout is the only thing that pulled me away from it.
I do want to know where to start to get into the Uncharted series. Are all games necessary or is it like AC where you can bypass the first altogether?
