Wol, are Thor’s nutz “god flavored”?
You’ll never know, non-believer. You have fun watching Superman returns. I loved the part where Kumar shanks Superman.
You have fun watching X-Men. I loved the part where Sabretooth is portrayed as a dumb lug henchman. Have even more fun watching Wolverine where they got rid of Tyler Mane (contrary to popular belief, he’s a perfectly good actor based on his role in Troy) and cast Liev Schreiber because he wanted to play Creed, not Stryker, then tried to explain the change by saying that a supposedly bloodthirsty killer embraced his wild side and devolved/ evolved into the aforementioned dumb lug henchman we see in X-Men…who doesn’t actually kill anyone.
Yep, Fox studios butchered my Sabretooth character. Just like Kumar butchered Superman. I’m surprised he didn’t rape him too. Superman was screaming like a bitch.

Fox can’t reboot their way out of this one. Singer helmed both movies. Technically, Man of Steel is the first Superman reboot and Russell Crowe seems to have a knack for choosing good movies. That’s a very good sign that he’d agree to play Jor-El.
It isn’t about Marvel vs. DC. I hate shitty comic book adaptations with a passion because they’ve taken graphic novels, turned 'em into Oscar nominated movies (A History of Violence; Road to Perdition) but people generally don’t see these as comic book movies because there are no “costumes” and no “powers”.
P.S. David Cronenberg would own a Punisher movie.
Why David Cronenberg?
A History of Violence, The Fly, Eastern Promises…
But do you really believe that Frank Castle has enough substance to be made into a movie of such high quality? They’ve had three attempts and none have met expectations.
Action: First and Third
Drama: Second
Frank Castle’s insane drive: First and Third
I don’t its possible.
It’s all there in the comics. They overlook substance when they just see the costume. How can any decades old character not have substance? Cronenberg could do it because it’s his style and he’s successfully adapted a graphic novel without most people knowing it was a GN (see the clips I added to my last post).
Good point. I wish I had better Punisher questions for you.
Where’s Prof X when you need him.
The clips didn’t take. I’m talking about the Cafe scene in A History of Violence and the Turkish bath house scene in Eastern Promises.
If The Punisher hits the small screen it should be through HBO, not Fox.
I have to be honest, I prefer the Punisher movies over this.
Wol, have you seen A History of Violence and Eastern Promises? I ask because violent movies don’t always depict violence in the same way. I’m not one for wall to wall violence - I prefer moments of intense, concentrated action. That’s why I like Cronenberg’s use of violence and Frank Castle’s encounters with Harry Heck and the Russian in Punisher 2004.
Should a live-action Punisher be about Castle shooting everything in sight, or should they build the bad guys up and keep Castle in the shadows?
I’ve watched A history of Violence in theaters and it was a good movie. Haven’t seen Eastern Promises. When I think of Punisher, I imagine this:
Punisher is violent, unforgiving, and relentless. I think most people think of Punisher like that.
But in all honesty, I don’t read many Punisher comics. So yes, my view is limited.
