Fox can’t reboot their way out of this one. Singer helmed both movies. Technically, Man of Steel is the first Superman reboot and Russell Crowe seems to have a knack for choosing good movies. That’s a very good sign that he’d agree to play Jor-El.
It isn’t about Marvel vs. DC. I hate shitty comic book adaptations with a passion because they’ve taken graphic novels, turned 'em into Oscar nominated movies (A History of Violence; Road to Perdition) but people generally don’t see these as comic book movies because there are no “costumes” and no “powers”.

Wol, have you seen A History of Violence and Eastern Promises? I ask because violent movies don’t always depict violence in the same way. I’m not one for wall to wall violence - I prefer moments of intense, concentrated action. That’s why I like Cronenberg’s use of violence and Frank Castle’s encounters with Harry Heck and the Russian in Punisher 2004.
Should a live-action Punisher be about Castle shooting everything in sight, or should they build the bad guys up and keep Castle in the shadows?
