Any thoughts on the new Prometheus trailer? Looks like it could be good, trailer doesn’t really give much to go on though. Almost looks like an old school (80’s or 90’s) scifi trailer…I wonder if that’s what they were going for.

Compare it to this:
I’m excited for prometheus- I think it’ll be a great film and set some standards.

Apparently there are no Aliens in it, but there is a Space Jockey and it takes place on the same planet as the original. Lots of DNA-dabbling hijinks to follow…

If Ridley Scott can deliver a prequel with no “Aliens”, then count me in. That means they’re going back into pre-production for the first movie for ideas. The trailer gives a lot away, and we’re probably gonna have to ignore the AVP movies…

I’m impressed. Do they have optional piranha tanks for those days when I’m feeling a bit more nefarious than usual?

Oh wow, how many weeks will it be before this is featured as a cause of death in a poorly-researched episode of CSI?

I’m fairly certain Ridley Scott has said it’s not the same ship from the original, although when it’s crashed it does look the same (before the planet went to shit ).
I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see something about the Xeno’s in the very end of the film.
It’s about humans trying to discover where they came from, Are we a creation of the space jockeys? Will we become the Xeno’s? Did we create the Xeno’s? Is jesus real?

Way, way back he said it was the same ship and the same Space Jockey - but a lot of things were proposed then dropped, like the prequel being an Alien / Blade Runner crossover (they are now developing a Deckard-free Blade Runner sequel).
I’m pretty certain at this point that “Aliens” will feature, but they won’t be the iconic Giger-designed creatures of the franchise. What I think we’ll get are proto-xenomorphs, hopefully developed from unused creature designs and concept art from the original movie.
Just so long as it’s not Aliens chasing people down spaceship corridors again.
That’s what all the other Alien movies seemed to be. Corridors are their natural habitat.

I just wish it was out already!
is this for real?
