Sweet. ‘Awesome’ cross-over reference there for Nards too.

You know what I only just realised about a week ago? The Hydra in Ash Lake can jump out of the fucking water and right over the beach strip. I was about to get killed by this thing and I decided to run off back to the nearest bonfire, I turn around to see if it’s gone and this thing is diving head first at me like 50 game-feet in the air, scared the christ out of me.

P.S. Always kill Ornstein first…always…[/quote]

Lol at the Ash Lake Hyrda, never knew it could do that.

You gotta kill smough first if its the first play through thought since you will never get an easier chance to get Ornstein’s armour, he is just ridiculous in new game +.

Yep, I think it’s if you start fighting it and then get far enough away it tries to follow you, doesn’t hit you when it leaves the water, just goes over your head and lands in the same position but on the other side of the beach.

I hate Ornstein so much, but Giant Ornstein is something else. Got hung up on that boss fight so much my first 5 or so times around that game.

haha that’s awesome I will try and lure it over next time I do a playthrough.

Good old Sun Bro Solaire saved my ass many a time during the fight, I actually found killing Lautrec more difficult lol.

Man Lautrec’s a total dick to beat when you’re new to fighting him, I remember getting advice from my friend on collecting his ring as my go-to the first time I got the game and being slaughtered mercilessly just trying to beat him over and over again. I mean shit I was failing on the first asylum demon back in those days, I had no chance.

May or may not depending on funds, I have until March here and then I go to the Navy, so I may just use my friend’s when he picks his up and hold out for one in my Quarters. Though if I’m really intrigued (which I am, of fucking course) and I have the spare money available so I don’t have to go Bear Grylls for a few months then I’ll get one.

I have to buy a new laptop at some point also, so I’m splitting my thoughts on that too.

The art is beautiful, made by one of my favorite manga author Takehiko Inoue, who made Slam Dunk and Vagabond(Musashi’s History)and produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series. =)

It is massive.

I am on disc three.

I am not even sure if I like it, but I want to keep playing it.

By default I am more excited for a new property than

Dances with Smurfs in Fern Gully in Space II: Tree Cat Elf Girls Gone Wild

or

Prometheus Act II: Coherent Story is for Losers

No Dredd sequel but those two get funded.

In other news Solomon Kane is on Netflix. It is good. Like Van Helsing, if Van Helsing was made by anyone who gave a shit.

I am so stoked for BF4.

Ridiculous when you hear Infinity Ward brag about their “innovations” such as reactive fish and then you watch vids like this and realise how much Dice has improved an already outstanding game.

Sorry to spam but holy shit some of these are unreal.

I am debating pre-ordering GTA V.

My major question is "Will it be awesome, like Red Dead Redemption, or tedious like GTA IV?

I am not as clued in to this stuff so any help would be appreciated.

That has me worried. I did not like GTA IV at all. I kind of disliked the protagonist. I thought the cars and even the walking were not as easy/user friendly. I really, REALLY hated the cell phone/friend BS.

It sucked…plane and simple.

When I said the lead is what drives it, they should have learned that with CJ in San Andreas.

I couldn’t be bothered to care what happened in GTAiv…while san andreas had people playing it for hours even if they never played the game before.

CJ was awesome. I can’t believe the lesson they learned from “People like customizing their character with tats, clothes, and physique” was “Let them pick WHICH annoying friend to go bowling with.”

Did you pre-order?

Nope, no pre-order on this one. That is how much I hated GTAiv.

I was waiting on the commentary here.

Do you enjoy heist movies? Because from what I’ve seen/read, the game is supposed to be centered around a bunch of heists. The heist missions from Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV were my favorite parts of those games, so I am hopeful for GTA 5. I’m thinking they will, in usual GTA fashion, pull a lot of elements from movies that are the inspiration for the missions.

In Vice City you had the bank job, and everything leading up to it - getting the driver, safe cracker, and gun man.

In San Andreas you had the casino robbery and probably my all time favorite mission of blowing up the Hoover Damn first to knock out the power.

In GTA 4 and the DLC you had the diamond heist at the museum from all 3 sides.

I agree GTA 4 felt like a chore to do most of the main Niko story (and I refused to touch any of the stupid friends side missions), but the 2 DLC’s were awesome. The Lost and the Damned was like playing an episode of Sons of Anarchy, and The Ballad of Gay Tony brought back a lot of the over the top fun of past GTA games.

I was pissed they maxed his size where they did.

I thought he should have been able to get a bit bigger.

Then in IV I spent the game with the start of a beer gut and the guy on roids (Brucie?) was smaller than I made CJ.

That was my initial plan, but I am getting kind of anxious. I pre-ordered Skyrim with no regrets. I pre-ordered ME3, and that was awesome until I beat the game. Then I got to take part in the online rage while it was still topical.

I am wondering if I should re-think GTA V. If they payed attention to what people like about past games it should be good.

I liked The Heist, Heat, etc.

I never picked up the DLC’s for IV. I heard they were good/better, but I had way too much of a fuck this game attitude. I read reviews that said the DLC’s are awesome, but the reviews said GTA IV was a master piece and I hated it. I am glad to read Prof X hated it, because my impression was that it was pretty much loved.

I also haven’t played any of the Saints Row games.

Heh well played.

Still, I cannot forgot how effectively Avatar utilized 3-D (on the bigscreen) and how no other 3-D blockbuster has come remotely close in that regard.

And yeah, Prometheus plot is tough to defense.
