I love star wars, but from the limited amount the show there, that gameplay looks awful.[/quote]

I am in the same boat BUT I am excited for it still because it is rumoured to be a live arcade/psn download title testing the water for the potential return of the awesome Battlefront series!

Pepper your anguses ladies, there’s dual cutlasses and shark fighting on the horizon.

I dont know.

How can they get this one out so damn fast after last one?

Probably kept both in production at different studios around the same time, maybe to avoid story inconsistencies with the Desmond death revelation from AC3.

Either way, I will hold out hope that this will be at least reasonable, and maybe have some beautifully brutal death scenes.

I love the series, just wary they are getting to much like COD

I’m pumped for this one. The naval battles were my favorite part of AC3.

Ladies and gentlemen, rattle your fucking foreskins together for this official Metal Gear Solid V reveal, confirming The Phantom Pain as the new Metal Gear Solid title.

If I’m not mistaken three minutes in you can see Revolver Ocelot and Psycho Mantis. Psycho. Fucking. Mantis.

I’m a big fan of the music, I don’t know why, and it shouldn’t, but it sounds pretty damn good in context.

Also, sweet David Bowie reference at the end. (At least I think it is, Zero taking up the name “Major Tom” in MGS3 and Dr. Clark talking about “Teenage Spider Queens From Mars” leads me to believe Kojima has a hard-on for Bowie references, which sure as hell isn’t a bad thing.)

I’m pumped for this, seems like a strange kind of psychotic episode they’re using for the game setting, but nonetheless, anything with Big Boss sits right with me. The sudden mass production of Metal Gear games is beginning to blow me the fuck away, I can’t handle how great this will be.

Tomb Raider- Impressive. Once they learn how to make convincing CGI skin, video games will be like movies.

Uncanny valley, you know?

The more a human face actually looks like a human face, the less it does.

Creeps people out, for whatever reason.

Big leap there.

Also, links to the latest GTA V screenshots here. Graphics look pretty great, car design looks real nice.

They can’t properly mo-cap eyes yet. Photo-realistic CGI characters don’t have dilating pupils. They are dead eyed. If they could create a dilation sensitive contact lense, the uncanny valley effect would be kaput.

That might be part of the answer, but I doubt that it is the whole answer.

If you study body language, we communicate so much we are not even aware of, but we notice instantly when something is missing.

Anybody else get new Bioshock?

I didn’t read the whole thread but hands down the best video game ever made is Dark Souls.

It’s $20 for 360 right now but it’s not for the feint of heart.

You were warned.

Dark Souls II in the making, I can’t wait, apparently it’s supposed to be a little easier than Dark Souls, not sure I like them watering down the difficulty.

Paralinguistics isn’t infallible. Commercial PUAs would like to have you think that because it’s their living, but you can’t use body language to read people to the extent that they say you can. They never disclose their failures -that would affect their reputation.

Well, you cant listen to what people actually say either and think that you know them, but that does not mean that you do not listen.

However, you are making my point, as long as we miss stuff we cannot replicate it.

OK. What is the uncanny valley in your opinion?

Dunno.

I do not like to make up unsatisfactory answers just so that I pretend that I know.

Sometimes “dunno” is enough.

I’m really excited for that game. I’m sure it will be plenty tough with the track record FromSoftware has.

I’m about two hours into the new Bioshock, and it’s everything I hoped it would be.
