To this day the mid 80’s Masters of Evil storyline is tops, and also recently traded so you can enjoy the story in one read vs waiting 30 days for the next issue to come out like I did. The type of damage they did to the Avengers in that storyline has never been repeated, Jarvis beaten up in front of Cap, Hercules put into a coma, Avengers mansion destroyed(first time this ever happened HUGE).
I missed out on that but some fucking awesome, is this it?
No this is it here

Also The Captain(cap 332-350) just got traded as well this is the storyline where Steve Rogers quits(again) and John Walker(superpatriot) becomes Captain America. Steve Rogers then becomes The Captain(Usagent costume) and continues to fight crime. Ahh memories I’m happy Marvel is trading these books now as my copies are gone due to my house burning down in 09.
Sweet thanks, was more into DC those days definitely picking this up.

whoever recommended me: the descent

FUCK YOU, but at the same time, thank you, i got in love with shauna macdonald covered in blood.

And i even discovered there is a part 2

If that’s the movie I think it is, then it teaches a very valuable life lesson. Never go spelunking with a bunch of women. I think the girls scored more kills against each other, over catty things like who slept with who’s husband, than the cave crawlers actually did.

yes, but it’s the first horror movie i see with no man at all, and the tension builds is not like american horror who goes straight out to 11 on the first scenes then lose momentum.

True. True.

I’m still not going spelunking with a bunch of women.

Thanos won’t appear as a main villain in Avengers. The Infinity Gauntlet barely registered in Thor - I hear it is in the movie but not long enough to make an impression on the general public (I didn’t spot it but it is supposed to be in the same chamber as the Casket of Ancient Winters, and it will be on the deleted scenes of the Thor DVD).

It’s too much to explain what the Infinity Gauntlet is and who Thanos is to a public who don’t even care to watch the post-credits scenes. Most of the buzz will come from the newly assembled Avengers team trying to work together.

Several indications suggest that the villains will be Loki, (who is after the Cosmic Cube, which after the Cap movie, will be a story in itself) and another easily manipulated major character who has already been seen. Plus, one of the actors who played a featured role as a frost giant in Thor has said he is contracted for The Avengers movie.

There was a hand/glove looking item in the vault, but it is very different from the comic version. It didn’t register with me either, until you mentioned it. I watched that scene closely to spot any artifacts I might recognize from the comics. I guess I failed.

SPOILERS**********************

So after the credits roll, the last scene was supposed to be the cosmic cube in the suitcase? It didn’t look very cubic to me, but I guess the infinite power source remark should have tipped me off.

Thor / Captain America movie spoilers

You didn’t fail - that’s the Infinity Gauntlet (the prop was displayed at comic-con and in a book accompanying the movie).

Yeah, it’s the Cosmic Cube. Dr. Selvig and Nick Fury call it a “power source” but the presence of Loki suggests it is much more than that. Check out Wol’s Thor Review thread for more info. The Cosmic Cube will appear in The First Avenger and we’ll find out how it is linked to Asgard and how it came to Earth.

K first of all. I’ve put quite a few hours into The Witcher 2 and it’s by far the best RPG released in a while. It takes a complete dump on Dragon Age 2 and is much more fun to play than Dragon Age 1.

That being said, steam was having a sale on Assassins Creed 2 this morning for just $10. Anyone played through it and enjoyed it?

Yeah. It’s good. A steal at $10.

Thought about getting AC 2 but since I just have a keyboard and mouse I didn’t think it would be that fluid to play. I just picked up all the splinter cell games from the sale today, have conviction on xbox and have played the first one before but I’ve never played double agent or chaos theory so looking forward to that.

Well surprise surprise here’s hoping Green Lantern is a hit so DC will make a few more movies of their lesser characters. If they have Hawkman part Indiana Jones, Highlander, and WOlverine this movie will rule

Friday…Mutants meet Hippies.

There’s been buzz about a console port, I’m excited.

Too bad the only member of the first class in this film is Beast and they even managed to make him blue an dfurry too soon, I think this movie will have a baraka deadpool in it. I really wish Sony would give the rights back to Marvel so they can incorporate them into the Marvel film universe

8/23 bricks will be shat.

I honestly believe that Fox have will have well and truly boxed themselves up story-wise if this tanks. There will be nowhere else to go. Officially they say it’s a reboot, but it has direct and indirect links back to the other X-movies? A full-on reboot would have been less confusing, but they keep trying to present an ensemble superhero movie which - for the wrong reasons - puts a handful of characters in the spotlight and sidelines the rest .

The execs at Fox treat audiences like idiots, even going as far as to lie when the unfinished cut of Wolverine was leaked (granted, some are, but even if they don’t get the concept of a fresh start they’ll still watch it… that’s why they’re idiots) know nothing about comics, and just have zero trust in the material (that’s why they screwed up Wolverine, and Deadpool by association).

I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen it: I like Matthew Vaughan, even though he was responsible for casting Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut (that was him, not Brett Ratner); Bryan Singer is a good director on the whole, but his reliance on love triangles to bring emotional depth and conflict in in X-Men and Superman Returns were unnecessary and transparent. If First Class gets an ‘f’, don’t expect a sequel to it or to Wolverine.

Hopefully the rights will revert back to Marvel then.

If they really wanted to do a first class and not totally fricked it up they could of had Scott, Jean, Beast, and then have Storm(even though she wasn’t in the first class) or why not just do a reboot they’re doing it with Spider-Man.
Who do we get?
Azazel(really? Never an X-men)
Emma Frost(joined during Grant Morrisson’s run did not have diamond mutation until then)
Mystique(never an X-men)
Banshee(started as a villian then joined in Giant size 1)
Darwin(just recently introduced and that was more so they could fix the whole 3rd Summer’s Brother storyline)
Havok(the short end of the Summers gene pool)

Now don’t get me wrong I love to see these characters on screen but the X-Men have a 36yr history why frick with it so bad?

Then listening to interviews they cut out Sunspot(not an x-man) and for a sequal they want Cable(fuck they haven’t even introduced Madelyne Pryor his mother)

I think what sux the most is I’m still going to go see it like a little bitch

My main beef is that Fox’s handling of the continuity is just downright inept. They’ve called it a reboot, but instead of just going with a back-to-basics approach with the true originals, they are afraid to distance themselves from the previous movies and still feel like they have to throw in flourishes like ‘that’ cameo from you know who for the fans… (child Storm was a deleted scene on Wolverine, Emma Frost was one of the prisoners in the Weapon X project, and Beast was a human in X-2).

Last time I looked, the fans weren’t so happy with the way the franchise was going. So this approach clearly isn’t what the fans want.

Then again, Michael Fassbender’s last three movies rocked (even though Magneto is now apparently Irish), James McAvoy (believe it or not) is one of the most versatile actors out there and January Jones is smoking…
