Damn. Wish they posted more about the game specifics, but that was a badass trailer. (Samaritan)
Dragon Age 2 is a definite buy on my list as soon as i end mass effect 1
anybody play demon’s soul? supposedly one badass rpg… might pick it up this weekend
I played Demon Soul. One of the hardest games I ever played. Biggest issue is the story is non-existant and there is essentially no help/guide/tutorial helping you learn how the play the game and how the fundamentals work.
"BATTLE: LOS ANGELES
But if those things bother you too much in this film, you went in for all the wrong reasons.
This is a war movie, pure and simple, and there isnâ??t a single element of that which falls flat or even underwhelms. Jonathan Liebesman directed the hell out of every action scene in this movie, and sells every major bad ass moment it has.
Iâ??m going to see this three or four more times in a theater, big and loud, just as God intended.
Itâ??s the kind of film you want to turn around and watch all over again. Enjoy this era of sci-fi while we have it, friends.
The studios are bound to fuck it up and kill it soon enough. But for now, we have BATTLE: LOS ANGELES. And that is a very, very good thing.
This comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."

Is it just me or was that trailer very underwhelming?

Just disconnect from the internet if you want to solo.

I saw the full trailer before Red Riding Hood this weekend.
The trailer was… not what I was expecting. In a bad way. As it stands, I’m listing this flick as “maybe rentable, not worth $30 in theaters” unless I see something else that perks my interest.
Side note, dude - I went for the headshaving yesterday and put a pic and video up in the charity thread:

Thought you’d get a kick out of it.
Yeah Super 8 looks good.

The only trailer I have seen is the train wreck then something big trying to get out of one of the cars. Is there a new one?
I went and looked at your peeled head, then had to go do a physical and forgot to respond.
NOW we have the same hair cut. You will save a ton on shampoo. ![]()

I’ll agree it’s definitely one of the hardest games I’ve ever played but I only enjoy masochism up to a point and it simply wasn’t that interesting. There was virtually no story to speak of. I also felt like my character never got very much stronger and never saw the point in many of the mechanics (why bother blocking if it drains the piss out of Stamina?) It was certainly an interesting concept, though.

I suggest renting it.
The re-playability is very low as much of the customization of your party has been removed in the name of streamlining. The truth appears to be, rather, that EA was on Bioware’s ass to get the game out of the door as fast as possible.
They literally re-use the same cave map for every. single. cave.
Parts certainly feel rushed. It’s a good game, but below normal Bioware standards. Just be aware if you decide to buy it.

This is the trailer I saw in the theater. I’d say “spoiler alert”, but it’s still just a trailer, so it’s not a spoiler.
And about the hair, it’s taking some getting used to. As soon as I got buzzed yesterday afternoon, my girlfriend was giving me weird looks like she didn’t really dig it. But when I was getting changed to go to sleep last night, she realized she kinda liked the shaved head-hairy chest look. So it might become a regular in the haircut rotation now. Ha.
^ Damn cant see video at work. Have to wait until I get home.
I gave up on Dragon Age II. The graphics were somehow worse than Dragon Age I, but still lagged my system more because it uses DX11. The story seemed subpar to me, by which I mean, better than most games but noticeably below Bioware’s usual incredibly high standard. The combat system is too streamlined for me, but that is more or a personal choice than Bioware’s fault as I liked the difficult micro managing in DA1. Replay value is almost non existant, because any class variation in the main character is always covered by party members with the streamlined system. Also, the enviroments are irritatingly similar, with you running back and forth to various events across the EXACT SAME MAP over and over.
It looks like Bioware just put this game on cruise control and rushed it out, rather than polishing it to perfection like they usually do. ME3 can be exactly the same as ME2, minus planet mining and I’ll be happy. That game plays like a movie.
DA2 was probably rushed to be released before the ‘real’ games of 2011 arrived.
If it had came out later in the year (after some of the ‘new gen’ games) - it’s score would have been alot worse.
