Sadly my friends you could be looking at the face of Loki. I like Hartnett in Sleven and can’t wait to see him in Sin City 2. But I just cant see him in a Super Hero movie.
Have you seen 30 Days of Night? He can pull off a fight scene…and apparently even punch through a man’s face.
30 Days of Night, I thought, was probably one of the best vampire movies I’ve seen in a while - I really enjoyed it.

I think he’ll play a good role.
I thought the scene where they moved the camera over the entire town as everyone was running, fighting, or getting feasted on was brilliant. As far as horror goes, that was a really underrated movie…
I’ve been avoiding this thread so I wouldn’t spoil anything for myself, but what’s the concensus on Watchmen? I read the graphic novel ten years ago and I’ve been dreaming about the movie ever since… Will I be let down or no?

One of the better vampire comic books I’ve read too. Ben Templesmith’s art work is sick.

We talked about it more in a separate thread.
I’m not sure what the consensus is. It sounds like some of us really loved it and didn’t mind some of the changes made and some people were really pissed with the stuff that got changed.
I loved it, but I’ve only read it once (just a few weeks ago as I posted about earlier). I felt that a lot of the movie was spot on (Rorschach and Comedian especially) and I was one of the people that didn’t mind some of the changes that were made.
If you still haven’t seen it, then I don’t want to say much more and spoil it for you. Go see it!
Also, keep in mind that the directors cut on DVD will be much, much longer.

I can dig it. I don’t mind the guy - I think it’s a decent fit.
x2
I don’t mind the guy either. If this was 2001 and they made this announcement right after Pearl Harbor came out, I might have had a problem with it, but he’s been in some good movies since then.
If they keep Loki as a trickster and a shadowy manipulator rather than a brawler, then he could play the part very well.
The Asgardians valued great strength, tenacity, and bravery in battle above all things and Loki was clearly inferior to his foster brother Thor in these areas. However, Loki’s gifts lay in other areas, most notably sorcery. He possessed a natural affinity to command great magical forces and hoped to somehow use these powers to become the most powerful god in all of Asgard and to destroy Thor. As Loki grew to adulthood, his natural talent for causing mischief would manifest itself and earned him a nickname as the God of Lies and Mischief. However, instead of playing harmless pranks, he grew steadily more malicious in his deeds, and his lust for both power and revenge was apparent to all those around him. In time, his nickname grew from being a playful and mischievous trickster god to the “God of Evil”. Over the centuries, Loki attempted on many occasions to seize rulership of Asgard and to destroy Thor.
What are you doing playing single player? It’s meant to be played cooperatively!
Regarding 30 Days of Night, I thought the first third was fantastic when it felt more like The Thing than anything else. Unfortunately, it kind of degenerated into a wholly average, boring vampire movie. Also, I wish Ben Foster had a bigger part in it as I find he’s quite good.
That’s because he doesn’t have the functional strength to wield a hammer the size of Mjolnir in a ‘real life situation’. What are you expecting here -a documentary?
Besides, James Preston Rogers has played a “High End Club Doorman” and a “Catatonic inmate”.
Catatonic inmate, you say? James Preston Rogers has to be a better actor. Triple H is pretty good at the catatonic part, but ‘inmate’ is slightly out of his range.
Although to be fair, Triple H - I mean Paul Levesque - has been taking intensive acting lessons. I’ve never seen him perform like this before. The depth and range of emotion is astounding…
