Overlord II?!?!?!
That’s another game I can’t wait for.

Brutal Legend looks really cool. Didn’t the guy who worked on Grim Fandango (still one of the best games I’ve ever played) work on Legend as well? I can’t recall.
Ghostbusters screens (looks awesome):
God of War 3 screens:
New Brutal Legend screens:
More BL news, stuff:

Definitely!

I’m not sure what to think of the new Final Fantasy (I think you meant 13) I never even finished 12, couldn’t get into it. The gambit system was the worst system I’ve ever seen in the FF series. I preferred Square-Soft over Square-Enix.

Yeah, sorry, I did mean 13. I never finished 12 either. I think it’s the first FF game I didn’t finish.

Honestly, I thought the story was very average. The characters sucked ass. Seriously, the main guy looked like a Sheboy from Thailand. I want my lead character to be tough and all, like Cloud or even Squall. That guy looked… aishgasdigh
Then the gambit system, what a sack of turd. FFX had the best battle system in my opinion. It was quick, easy and fairly strategic as you knew who’se turn was when and all that.
Blah

Tim Schafer was the writer/story creator behind Grim Fandango while at LucasArts. When he left LucasArts he founded Double Fine and created Pshyconauts. AngryVader pretty much layed out why Brutal Legend has been in development limbo.

I thought I could get into the Gears of War novel but no dice. I’ll try that one again this summer.
PonceDeLeon,
You should definitely give the gears book another try. It dives deep into the characters feeling and emotions that the video game can not capture. Most definitely a must read if your a gears fan.
Anybody shocked that the teaser trailer for ME 2 said Shepard was K.I.A ?

Nope. The director for the games said he’s basically TOTALLY cutting off any ties to characters from the first one. Keeping the main, central story going, but introducing new people 'n stuff.
I like it.
Less Gears of War and Halo-style (Games 2.0) and more TRUE sequels!

Yeah, I finished reading The Watchmen on Tuesday. Like with Mass Effect, once I got into it, I had a hard time putting it down. As SSC, Wilmernuts and others have said, the end just ties together really well. It was like 1 am and I had two chapters to go and I couldn’t stop reading it.
I loved Mass Effect for the story. While I felt that Assassin’s Creed had a great beginning, I was one of the guys that got bored with the gameplay and never finished the game. I barely got halfway though. Just not my type of game, I guess. That’s all I can really say about it.[/quote]
Watchmen was outstanding. Can’t wait to go see the movie.
Mass Effect was great, but I felt it didn’t have the same replayability as KOTOR. Probably because KOTOR was a brand new concept. I played that game through probably 10 times, lol. And whats with that weird space buggy in ME… Looking forward to the next one though. Those kind of games are the only ones I can seem to get really into.
Have you guys talked about Dragon Age yet?
This is a loong thread, lol.
Strangely, in spite of all the fancy games coming out, I’ve had the most fun in recent months with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Simple gameplay and a somewhat childish story, but damn how fun it is!
I don’t know why, but I have trouble really getting into new games. I used to be totally addicted, and have logged ridiculous amounts of hours on Baldurs Gate, Heroes of Might and Magic III…

Agreed.
For me I think it’s because so many good games are out now, or I have more money.
I got Fallout 3 and was on it like a crack addict. Then I rediscovered Call of Duty 4, and then I got Street Fighter IV.
I think a lot of it is just finding a medium between playing games and “having a life.”

Hell yeah, Marvel: UA was the shit. I’m kind of an achievement whore though (at about 24,000 right now,) so I even downloaded the extra characters and shit just so I could play through an extra few times.
I put that game on, blast some death metal, and you’re in for a good couple of hours.

Shit, I’ll add ya later.
And keep in mind I’ve definitely sacrificed some (TOO MUCH) of a social life for some of those achievements.
Most of them, actually.
