I found out a little about what they wanted for the character – that he wasn’t going to be super, you know bulky or big, that he’s more functional. He’s still big, but he’s lean. So I started training that way and trying to do what I could just to get an audition.

Sorry dude, that pretty much did the movie in for me.

I just died a little inside.

Reviews for SF IV are up. It all looks good except for this little tid-bit.

ok i got a big NERD confession to make:

I love street fighter so much that i want to tattoo a Ryu in the middle of my tiger and dragon, they cover almost all my back but still have space to work a shoryuken’s ryu there…

i mean… everybody loves ryu right? or maybe that impulse will make me regret when i have 70 years old…

Oh well, it just means that he’ll be 170 lbs (“functional+lean”) instead of 175 (Hollywood version of “big+bulky”) in the movie.

Your love of Friday the 13th and Street Fighter has made you my new best friend.

Anybody been watching Batman: The Brave and the Bold?

Its a new animated series based in part on the old DC Comics “team-up” series The Brave and the Bold. Like the comic series, it features two or more super heroes teaming-up to solve a crime or foil a super villain, but unlike the comic, the cartoon focuses on Batman working with the different heroes. The show is “lighter” than the previous Batman: The Animated Series. Batman is more lighthearted and playful with a “dry, ironic wit.” Which is more consistent with the original 70’s Brave and the Bold comics.

Yes, nearly every other movie sequel sucked ass over the last 20 years. Jason Takes Manhattan had to have been the largest piece of crap made up until that point. However, the fact that Newline Cinema now has the rights to the franchise (the ones who finally brought Freddy vs Jason to the screen) may breath new life into a dead franchise.

Paramount Pictures is who created the last few turds that helped make this character a joke. The fact that half of the Winchester Brothers from Supernatural happens to be in it is what will drive me into the theater on Friday.

Hopefully I won’t be wasting my money.[/quote]

Personally, I think all horror films are better served by being set in outerspace. Jason X. Leprechaun 4. Children of the Corn VIII: Cornholin’ in Space. Need I say more?

Part of me is almost sad to see these series that frightened me as a child and then devolved into bad bad bad comedies get restored to some semblance of horror/suspense. Shoot for a while the best reason to watch Jason go on a rampage was you were guaranteed to see some Grade A primo tits. I wander if this new age of horror directors are gonna keep the breast in horror flicks or go the more P.C. route?

I dont know who those other clowns are but I know X when I see him

The one in gold is Sentry. Marvel’s answer to Superman, I guess. He’s pretty much a loser that Marvel pulled out of their ass one day. He drank a super-serum and got the “power of one million exploding suns”. His whole origin is that nobody remembers him, so he has to go around reminding them how great he is. And then he gets beat up by the Hulk.

The dud with the axe is Ares. Because the Hulk is either buried deep underground or being slapped around by his red headed brother or just uncool these days he is getting replaced with new up and coming muscleheads like Hercules and Ares. Both of which got slapped around a bit by the Hulk in WWH.

I’ve seen it and with the exception of the Green Lantern episode, I find them insulting to the Batman: The Animated Series and all the shows it spawned. Why would they take this route with Batman after the gritty realistic movie and the Gotham Knight video? I guess DC is getting greedy and wants to appeal to a whole new Generation but I find it patronizing to real fans of the Batman mythos. If Kevin Conroy isn’t the voice of Batman I don’t have much hope for the show.

Sweet! I’m pre-ordering that one for sure.

This movie should be renamed “Friday the 13th…Jason and the Titties”

Spoilers:

This is an episode of Supernatural…only without the car and one of the brothers. That is how the whole movie felt…and that’s not a bad thing considering what this franchise had fallen to. “Sam Winchester” is the star of this and he plays himself well.

Jason can now try out for the Olympics considering how fast he can run now while holding a machete and slicing at the same time. This was actually an improvement…along with the fact that they clearly tried to show that he LIKED killing people (from one scene where they show his “one good eye” while he kills one of the victims).

Bottom line, they acted like only the first movie had ever been made. This was a wise decision.

If you are looking for Oscar Worthy performances…you clearly don’t know what a slasher flick is.

Oh, there are tits less than 5 mins in. They did not skimp on this at all.

Hell yeah, Titties. I’m taking TO’s advisement and I’m gonna get my popcorn ready.

Good! As I’ve posted before, tits are one of the requirements for a good slasher flick.

I’ve heard it’s a little lacking on the gore though. Did you notice this?

Loser with the S on his belt is the Sentry, who’s supposed to have the power of the sun. Fuck him.

Luke Cage/Prof X look alike is in the middle. He’s missing his yellow shirt and tiara though.

Yes…but then, I watched the other movies over the last week and I think some people have rosier memories of what those sequels were like because many of those death scenes sucked. They used to put a blade through someone and it would come out the other side with a small drop of blood on it.

Needless to say, at least these looked more realistic. Had they actually gone the “overboard use of blood and guts” route it might have been comical.

That’s pretty much why I related it to that tv show. It’s tame on gore so if you are expecting Saw, stay home.

It was sold out where I’m at. Which is surprising. I 'll see the 9:40 show, though.
