O man, this is funny to me.
I am for real, just picturing one of my friends(in my head and insted of Pootie) playing Gears2, standing on their feet and screaming into their mic for any reason is funny as hell.
Did you play the beta?
No, I have made it a rule to not play betas any more. Its like watching a movie with no music in it. Its just not finished
Ah, you missed out.
…fuck…
You know that is exactly what my ex said when I walked in.
I kidd
Heh, well it’s not too far away.
Also … when you pre-ordered did they give you a code at the store or do you have to do something else? I pre-ordered mine today and got nothing ![]()

If you pre-order from the store they should give you card with a code on it. If you pre-order online they will shot you an e-mail. But they may just not have gotten any yet.
They started shipping them to the stores two weeks ago and the store here just got some in the other day. Just keep chcking with them every few days.
Also got Left 4 Dead today. Game is sick!

Beefcake: Hulking Shoulders? Barrel Chest? Square Jaw? Check.

Kind of a defeatist attitude in the writing, but its a persuasive paper about stereotyped males to counter the usual hooplah about the use of exaggerated female forms. The first two entries, Duke Nukem and Contra, make me miss the days of '80s action flicks: First Blood, Predator, Terminator, etc… My gripe about the article is she uses these as examples of near impossibility rather than inspiration.
On the upside she admits twice to liking muscles on the fellows.
“With this in mind I decided to rally up some of the biggest ?beefcakes? in gaming history ? and not just to provide eye candy for the oft-ignored ladies.”
“The combination of his stature and no-nonsense personality grounds him in a way that many other beefy characters fail to obtain. So I won?t complain. Especially since he is nice to look at.”
So its a win for the “chicks dig muscles” argument.
Cool find indeed. It seems like they’re missing something… someone… but I just can’t think of it.
And yeah, Duke Nukem is probably the most diesel motherfucker that we’ve seen in gaming.

I dunno Kratos is kinda ripped. Also Cole Train from Gears of War is pretty pumped. At least his arms are anyway.
Bujo, I think you posted that link solely to weaken my defenses and give me a reason to start gaming.
Now THOSE are T-Men!!! :-p

Oh yeah… everyone on the list is legitimate. Guess I gave my props to Nukem because you can’t find many other protagonists that thrive off of giving pixelated strippers cash and shooting police pigs in the face.
On a side note, I wish they’d release a separate game with the Cole Train as the main hero. Gears got old as hell after they made the same game twice… IMO.
Any fans of the Total War series by Sega? PC turn based strategy games. They have 4-5 games in the line and are expecting a new one in March that features some enhanced Naval warfare for the time period between 1700 and 1800. Really well done games.
For those unfamiliar with it- you pick a country, establish your trade routes, build your infrastructure, raise your armies- and then go to war. You get full control over units during battles. It’s very addicting. My description doesn’t do it justice.
Hard to fathom how far games have come. When I was a kid- video games consisted of jumping over barrels thrown on timed intervals by a huge ape- or running from pickles and eggs as you attempted to make a hamburger. May the gods bless technological advancement.

Since the article is focused on humans, I would have used Zangief or Guile as the Street Fighter examples instead of Ken and Ryu. Though I have to say Ken and Ryu are looking more jacked than in previous games.
I can’t say I would have used a 2D side scrolling game in the article, and there was plenty representation for the fighting genre. Ryu Hyubusa would have been a good addition.
I loved playing Gears 2. I would prefer more play time as a full squad than the constant pairing down, especially since Baird and Cole were reduced to “go-for-boys”.

Squat Deep!!!

Haha. Mario was born back then, and they didn’t even call him Mario at first… What was that, JumpMan?
Anyway, I’ve played a few Total War titles. Rome, the expansion (Germanic Tribes thing), Shogun, Medieval 1…
But that’s about it, haven’t gotten my hands on the new ones yet.

Ah shit… that was the one I was omitting. I still maintain that Ninja Gaiden II is about the most " " “T” " " games ever made.

Damn right.
But the biggest dude (at least among humans) in the Ninja Gaiden series is Murai: - YouTube
The guy looks like Conan with nunchuks.

Never tried those. I did spend a ridiculous amount of time playing Nectaris: Military Madness many years ago. I think it was the PSX port. Some of the missions felt impossible at first, until you found just the right strategy.
For those who love the Dark Knight, this is hilarious but also a little insulting…

Haha yeah… I remember that guy was a bitch as the first boss in the game, until you figured out you could just spam the wall flip. Damn, I need to play through those games again.
I think Murai still owns the number one spot for continuous whipped-my-ass-and-made-it-look-easy defeats in my gaming life.
