Geek S**T Generation 2.0

Oh, and I should mention I really wanted to like the game since I liked the others. I just couldn’t force it.

Snake Eater is better than the first 2 if you ask me.

I agree with you on the boss fights to a degree. I was underwhelmed but compared to bosses you see in games nowdays I thought they were decent. The bosses in Snake Eater, however, are too awesome to put into words, which is why I was a little disappointed with MGS4’s bosses.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was one of the worst games I’ve ever played.

I don’t understand what game reviewers are smoking.

Did you play or like the previous 3?

I read somewhere that at some point, the game has a 45 minutes (yes, 3/4 of an hour) cutscene. Was the reviewer exaggerating?

It sure does, at the very end. What do you expect from MGS?
I’m not a fan of the series; I played the second one on the PSX (I think it was the second one… it’s the one where you have to plug your controller in another port to finally be able to beat a boss…)

I don’t remember the cutscenes being particularly long. I also didn’t get what all the hype was about that game. It was an ok stealth game and a so-so shooter. Syphon Phylter or Splinter Cell were both vastly superior to MGS in gameplay - both stealth and shooting - as far as I’m concerned.

At least the 45 minute cutscene is at the end. I was afraid it was in the middle of gameplay, and either unskippable on the first view, or you don’t dare skip it in case you miss some important info for the rest of the game.

Actually about 2/3rds of total playtime is watching cutscenes. The longest period of playing between cutscenes is about 20-30 minutes tops.

Wouldn’t that make it more of a movie interrupted by periods of gameplay? The cutscenes have better be damn good.

Watchmen will be in theaters in March.

Yaaay. I was getting sick of all the idle chatter about legal reprocussions… Blah blah blah. Less talk, more Rorschach.

Keanu Reeves starring in Cowboy Bebop???

WHAT?

Battlestar Gallactica WTF

Total Anti-Climax …ergh

@ Cowboy Beebop

Poo! Nothing will beat the series nothing ever ever.

FFXIII - US release delayed until April 2010!!!

Damn again?! Kind of makes sense though. I just finished reading a few articles where some were saying that they thought it was kind of odd that there hasn’t been any real gameplay footage of the game yet. You’d think there would be a few videos available by now unless they are really having technical difficulties getting the game to run.

Same here. The last report stating that it might be delayed until 2011 if they didn’t reach a resolution was really worrying me. Let’s just get to the watching and discussing now.

Anyone watching the Batman: Black and White motion comics on XBL? Highly recommended. 80 points for 7-11 minutes of good, pulpy vignettes.

Especially like the Alex Ross “Case Study” of the Joker.
Hadn’t seen this. Will have to check it out.

I’ve read this too. WTF?

Did folks not see the big pile of steaming crap that was “The Day The Earth Stood Still”? And they still want Keanu “I know Kung-Fu” Reeves as Spike? Tragedy. Travesty. Egads what is with folk’s casting choices these days. What about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, will he be making a cameo appearance?

The music was a huge part of that anime as important as the characters and story itself. If Yoko Kano isn’t providing the music for this movie I ain’t watching it.

What I want to know is do the big wigs in charge think they can do something better than “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”?

Looks like M. Knight has picked his cast for Avatar The Last Air Bender:

Jesse Mcarthy??? Really WTF!! Not one asian kid in the whole mix. For a cartoon that is filled with Asian mythology and Asian characters, this is a really suspect move. Pat Morita most be rolling in his grave right now.
Wasn’t the series’ characters 12-15 years old? Thus making the whole coming of age thing relevant to the plot, the characters, and the children watching it. Oh well, I suppose aging the cast by 10 years won’t affect the story much. I mean this way Ang could just get Katara drunk and hook-up with her out behind the big ass buffalo. No need to stumble about naively for four seasons or three movies or whatever.

Due in theaters in summer 2010, “Airbender” has already begun to face a bit of controversy over the casting of white actors like Rathbone, Ringer and McCartney to play Asian characters ? a concern the actor was quick to dismiss. “I think it’s one of those things where I pull my hair up, shave the sides, and I definitely need a tan,” he said of the transformation he’ll go through to look more like Sokka. “It’s one of those things where, hopefully, the audience will suspend disbelief a little bit.”
Its nice to know all it takes is a haircut and a tan to change one’s ethnicity. I think I will be Mexican tomorrow, and I can be black for February.

Sweet!

Those movie things about the Avatar and Cowboy Bebop make me think WTF!!! The Dragonball thing I kind of got over but ugh this is just adding insult to injury!
