The Dead

Possibly one of the most realistic zombie movies made so far.
I’ve seen this movie, totally boring, horrible B-movie. Seriously, I know that X likes black stuff which is just fine, but he needs to find something better to reccomend.
What’s wrong with b-movies?
B movies in my Opinion have to be either so bad that they are good, or otherwise have something, anything else that brings the viewer in such as offbeat characters or humor. This movie is straight up boring and about 2.5 or 3 hours long. Waste of money.
So it’s not a b-movie then. What alternatives would you recommend?
I just dont see why everyone is falling on “The Dead” 's bandwagon when it sucks. Anyway, some movies that I have enjoyed that would fit the geek label…

 1. Street Trash- a movie told from a homeless’s point of view, that makes fun of bums without giving the viewer any intellectual or cultural offerings whatsoever. The movie was also created by the Troma film people, so you know that there will be some kind of gross outcome of the characters
 2. Cannibal the Musical- features a musical made by the guys that made Southpark, of the story of the only person in the US to be convicted of cannibalism
 3. Bigger Faster Stronger- A docu about roids, physical culture geeks would enjoy

Well, there’s your problem right there. I don’t jump on bandwagons. I give my own personal opinion on movies regardless of what other people think.

The Dead is a ZOMBIE MOVIE. That usually means the target viewership happens to be people who like ZOMBIE MOVIES. Compared to most ZOMBIE MOVIES ever made, The Dead was unique in how it portrayed an event like that. Slow moving zombies hadn’t been done right since Romero. They were done right here.

I mean, seriously…nothing you have written yet makes me think your opinion of a movie should have any influence on anyone else. Your taste isn’t exactly gleaming right now. A Troma movie? LOL. You have got to be kidding.

Once people watch this drek of a movie, they’ll get off this inane bandwagon. The movie blows.

Dude, The Dead came out in 2010. If people are still talking about it 2-3 years later, my guess is, there was at least something to talk about.

Movies that suck as bad as you claim don’t get mentioned for years afterwards.

Some french guys took a Sega Genesis and hooked it up to shock collars made for dogs to go off every time you take damage in the game.

I thought The Dead was a far better film than the Dawn of the Dead re-make/re-imagining. It was pretty damn well done. The effects were good enough. The acting was good. I don’t know what else could have made it better.

Maybe my only geek objection was that I think the more violent countries/regions in Africa would fare a hell of a lot better in a zombie apocalypse. There are already plenty of guns with ammo and a large part of the population is used to violence and doing without infrastructure. Hell, in a world wide slow zombie outbreak Liberia and Somalia might suddenly be the BEST places to be.

Now in the interest of comedy:

He wasn’t white. If he was a white guy in Africa the movie would have had 30 minutes of dealing with racial stereotypes. It didn’t, so he couldn’t have been white.

Regards,

Robert A

So watched the ‘‘highlander endgame’’ the other night. Just about to watch the ‘‘The source’’

The source was just plain terrible. Everything was bad, the actors, special effects, the story. Everything.

The Dead was pretty good, but I had hoped it would be great. Awesome make-up effects, the zombies were portrayed really well (slow!!!), and I really liked the ending, but I actually fell asleep for a few minutes in the middle (to be fair though, I was watching it while stretched out on the porch on a sunny afternoon). The pace just felt really slow overall.

As for the main character, he was fine enough, except for those several spots where he was caught totally unaware by zombies and should’ve become lunch.

Eh, I can see that as yes and no. Sure, it’d be useful to be “desensitized” to a certain level of chaos and have a good stockpile of supplies, but I think some parts would be just too population-dense, making the numbers of undead swell way faster than could be managed. Plus, if the place is be generally unstable with some semblance of government/law/structure, I can only imagine how crazy things can get once that cracks.

Saw this earlier thought it was awesome.

Wow this is better than I thought it would be.

I would probably vote for someone with a main platform of keeping me safe from ice giants and only that.

The only problem is, if government was fighting them we would probably be swamped with those critters.

Confirmed: Joss Whedon is writing and directing Avengers 2.

Fox is apparently running out of time to make a Daredevil reboot. They have until October the 10th to start filming a new movie or forfeit the rights, allowing Marvel to bring The Man Without Fear into their ever-expanding universe.

Marvel have offered up a compromise, allowing Fox an extension in exchange for giving up Galactus and Silver Surfer, but Fox have refused, stating that they plan to use both in the FF reboot (to be directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank).

Fox may yet get a pass…if Marvel are interested in co-financing a Daredevil movie. Joe Carnahan is interested in directing the movie for Fox, but the clock is ticking…

Vampire free Lincoln?

I’ll pass.

I want heavy on the vampires with light boobies.

Lol I read the book and I was really impressed with it honestly.

Will catch the movie on Redbox one Sat night when I am bored…

This may have killed black ops 2 for me.

Hey, now. You’ve already been accused of bandwagoning by reviewing one zombie flick. If you put your weight behind a rival genre, nobody’ll know which bandwagon to jump on. You can only like one movie at a time, and that’ll define your entire movie viewing history to date. Them’s the rules.

Talking of boredom, Abe’s looking listless - probably no more vamps to kill by then.
