It’s Guillermo Del Toro’s homage to Japanese monster movies, with humans building and piloting giant robots/ exo-skeletons to fight equally humungous creatures. He promises that the battles will be like nothing ever seen before on screen, with clashes in every element, from space to the depths of the oceans.

P.S. That robot is BIG…

Off the top of my head: Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day (haven’t seen him in much).

So is like Perlman going to do every action flick from now on

I am a Geek for this kind of stuff so have to wait and see trailers.

Del Toro always finds a role for Ron Perlman. It’s kind of expected. I remember reading something about Perlman agreeing to work for free so they could get Cronos filmed. I also recall something about the Mexican financiers taking a gamble on the movie because there was an American actor involved. There’s a strong mutual loyalty there - that’s why GDT fought so hard for Ron to do Hellboy when the studio wanted a bigger name (Del Toro basically dug his heels in and refused to do the movie without him).

Hope you’re listening, Tim Burton.

Burton has pigeon holed himself, he does nothing but Emo movies and cartoons any more.

I watched the Bourne trilogy yesterday on TNT, I forgot how much I enjoyed those movies.

Found scan of Elba. Apparently he’s the General leading the battle. Good stuff.

Casting is shaping up nicely…everything else remains to be seen…lol…as I didn’t really enjoy first Wolverine movie. But I like choice for Kenuichio Harada. Same goes for Hiroyuku Sanada as Shingen…that guy is awesome…period.

HOHOHOHO!! I just can’t wait to check this movie out. I expect it to be even bigger and more mind-boggling than all Transformers movies put together.

Idris looks great in that scan.

After seven and a half years, this is my 4,000th post. As geektastic as it is to point that out, or even pay that much attention, I figured this was the right place to deliver it.

To celebrate this non-occasion, I’d like to officially declare My Top 5 Zombie Movies.

#5) Dawn of the Dead (remake)
A great opening, a great ending, a zombie baby. Solid remake that trumps the original. I’ll forgive the fast zombies.

#4) Zombie Honeymoon

If you can track it down, give it a shot. Low budget but a great story (inspired by true events, as per the director’s commentary).

#3) Diary of the Dead
Simply classic Romero brought up to the 21st century, if a little heavy-handed on the metaphors about the media and society.

#2) Shaun of the Dead
Perfect blend of being funny and action-y. Super quotable and endlessly re-watchable.

#1) Night of the Living Dead (original, black and white)
it all starts here. None more better. Extra geek fun fact: I can’t count the number of times I’ve used this movie’s plot as a scenario when I was a GameMaster for several RPGs. (AD&D, Star Wars, Rifts, I think I even managed it for DC Heroes once)

The rest of my Top 10, in no particular order: Deadgirl, The Dead, Zombie, Grace, Fido, Dawn of the Dead (original). Yes, that’s actually makes a Top 11. Whatever.

Has anybody watched Gundam Unicorn? I think im falling in love with Anime all over again.

Don’t really even care about the game that much…but just made me excited and say “When the hell is the movie coming out?” Ryan Reynolds needs to stop bullshitting…and say “Hey,motherfuckers…let’s do this. I…am…Deadpool.”

Just watched the trailer that will be attached to The Dark Knight Rises, this is looking pretty good.

Image attached this time!
