So this movie looks pretty well…Kick-Ass! Seen a clip and a short fight/killing scene online. They are not skimping on the goriness of it! Sweet stuff!

What does everyone think of Dragon Age?
I bought it for 360 on Tuesday…haven’t had a chance to play it yet.
My co-worker got it on PC and absolutely LOVES it!
Dragon Age is sweet.
I think they stepped up some of the game play from Mass Effect. A few very cool things:
Six possible Prologue/Origin stories for the character you create based on what class you choose.
You can actually play as your party members / team mates and not locked into being the lead character. If your character goes down in a fight you automatically take control of the next party member. Hell, if you don’t like the character you created you could play out the game mostly as one of the party members.
You can chit chat with your party members at any time their stories don’t seem reliant on plot advancement
No “Good or Evil” ranking. Instead you can earn (or bribe) your party members loyalty and respect or you can royally piss them off
Dialogue seems smoother and more sincere.
This game has the most indepth combat role/assignmet for your party members when they are computer controlled that I have ever seen. It is a little daunting at first but if you read the little guide book it gives a couple examples that really help.
Coolest Video Game Dog Ever
Downsides.
Leveling up seems a little slow
Combat feels simple and a little slow. This may be due to early levels and fewer skills or abilities
Some battles may be unwinnable on the first play through (or are at higher difficulty settings), so the game may be staged for multiple play thoughs. This could also be due to my own inexperience. I’m still experimenting with party arrangements and tactics.
Tip:
The Combat Tactics skill is great for party members but a waste on the character you primarily control
No shit, man.
I still have Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legends, and Borderlands sitting on the shelf. Assassin’s Creed II, Mass Effect 2 and Modern Warfare 2 coming out soon. Plus games I want to replay like Dead Space, Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect and Ultimate Sith version of The Force Unleashed. Can I take a leave of absence from my GF and work to just play video games?

Tell me about it. The primary reason I haven’t been able to play any games this week is that I have friends visiting and they aren’t leaving until Sunday. I’m actually at the point where I kind of wish they’d leave early so I could spend more time playing some of these games.
I haven’t even opened Dragon Age yet, and I’m still messing around with Fallout 3, Brutal Legend and Arkham Asylum.
With the new Ultimate Alliance 2 character expansion coming out today, I’ll probably play that again for a little bit now too.
I also want to mess around with Mass Effect again before Mass Effect 2 comes out.
Dragon Age has a dog?! That’s just another reason why I’ll enjoy the game. But are you saying it’s a better dog than Dogmeat from Fallout 3?

I’m in the same boat. Visiting my parents and left my Xbox back at home. I usually game late at night after they have gone to bed, but not this time.
I luv Dogmeat and all, but:
You can name your DA dog whatever you want.
DA dog can wear war paint
The DA dog is a playable character. In fact you could spend most of your in game time as the dog roaming around peeing on stuff and killing baddies. You would be surprised how many battles I won with the dog being the sole surviving party member.
DA dog has a sweet AOE Stun effect and a nice knockdown power.
I’m not sold on 3-D gaming yet. Or 3-D movies either.
It supports 3-d gaming platforms but, the movies are seen in 2-d just as you would in the theatres. I saw a clip from the Oprah show and she said that it looked as if you were sitting in the theatres.

Wow! I guess you’re right then. DA dog for the win! Plus, I just watched a little IGN video on the dog and it looks badass as well!

I’m currently playing Borderlands in co-op mode. I’ve got Arkam Asylum, Risen, and Dragon Age on the shelf. I never got around to playing TFU, but I want to…
I don’t know if I’d give up pussy for playing them, but I can appreciate the sentiment

I don’t want to give up the pussy either, just wish I could retask the time and effort spent on getting some to more enjoyable things like video games.
Been playing Dragon Age like its crack. Had to go to Ft. Bragg this weekend to run some ranges and took my laptop with me so I could play it at night…I wasnt worth a shit the next day b/c I stayed up all night playing. I cant wait to see where they take the franchise.
MW2 coming out a midnight and im at work. Oh well, I bet Gamestop is going to be a made house tonight anyway.
I def. know what you guys mean about not having the time though to play all these games though. I still havent played Uncharted 2 yet and Assassins Creed is going to have to wait to. I would say they would have to wait till after the New Year but Mass Effect 2 comes out in Jan.
/sigh, this happens every year. All these games and not enough time to play them all. I dont think I got to Left 4 Dead till May or June of this year b/c I was still playing catch up.
Tomorrow I have an off-day from lifting and I’ll be logging many more hours on Dragon Age most likely.
My party members are all around level 11-12 right now, to give you an idea of how much of the game I’ve gone through so far.
My main party setup has been My 2hand warrior as the main guy (full dragon armor, woot!), morigan the mage, shale the golem, and Pearl - my dog (same name as my pit bull lol).
I’m too lazy to type out any long details - but I love the game. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were both a let down for me, but Dragon Age absolutely kicks ass so far.

And yes AvP looks sweet as hell
It looks like Dragon Age will be what I’m doing this christmas!!!
I’m new the the Ps3, can you import/export saves like you could on the PS2? I’m spending Christmas week with my family and my little brother has a PS3 and I’d like to play Dragon Age there and then bring my save file back?
