I have a an announcement that my fellow geeks here can appreciate…Gentlemen I am at Mecca(well 1 of 2 places that can be considered Mecca to us comic book fans). Let me elaborate, I work for a consultant agency in Manhattan that sends me on different long term assignments to the many different companies that are located in Manhattan. I received a call last week that I was to report to…wait for it…D.C. FUCKING COMICS!! Yes home of BATMAN, SUPERMAN (he told me to tell you he still loves you Wolbarret), GREEN LANTERN ETC. Now of course i was psyched and eager to check it out, I just didn’t understand how great this was actually going to be. Not only the do the floors have themes, Gotham City (Life size Batman statue greets you in the lobby), Daily Planet (life size Superman) etc., there are toys, replicas, scale statues and comic books EVERYWHERE!! I am finding it hard to concentrate right now there are with no exaggeration about 50 toys and mini statues at my desk as we speak. The absolute best part is I have access to years & YEARS of comics, with permission I can take them home and keep as my own…
Fellow geeks Life is good.
Bitch.
What was that? I couldn’t see through all this awesome at my desk… These Batman Arkham Asylum toys are so distracting.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
I can’t show the Arkham asylum toys because they aren’t in stores yet but here is a small sample of what i got surrounding me. Sorry for the blurry cell phone pics.

That’s too much geek in one place. That whole building could explode at any minute.

Tell me they have a Nekron figure, somewhere in that building.
Also, I have hate in my heart. And guess what, Pootie? It’s all for you.
No Nekron to be found my friend. I might have to ask around. The building is to capacity with geekdom but what puts it at critical mass is that Mad Magazine shares one of our floors! Yeah thats right “What me Worry?” is in on the Geek orgy.
I, for the most part, have the same view of them as I do FPS’s but there are occasionally some good ones out there worth playing. I got bored of the Need for Speed series years ago, though I’ve been playing Burnout Paradise lately and it’s pretty good.

Burnout is where its at, it has THE best sense of speed in any racing game I’ve played. Ive heard good things about the new need 4 speed.
Burnout seems to be a very under-rated game in my opinion. It was going for next to nothing and bought it to because a friend said it was pretty good; it’s defintely one of the better racing games I’ve played in a while.
N4S have, to me, just been rehashing all their games with nothing too interesting.
Have you, or anyone here, ever played Street Legal on the PC? Probably one of the most in-depth racing games I’ve ever played, sadly also one of the buggiest. I’m suprised none of the bigger game developers have never made a game similar to it.
I have heard many complaints about the lack of content considering it was packaged/priced as a full new retail game, and not just a slight expansion of the series.

Anyone here have an ipod touch? Do you train with it? I’m debating right now between the 8G ipod touch and the ipod nano. The touch just seems cooler but for training it seems a bit big? I do a mix of PL, OLY, running and other conditioning stuff. Also I’m a big concerned that it seems to be more fragile than the nano since it’s entire face is the touch material.
I’d suggest something as light and small as possible - something like an iPod shuffle instead. Maybe that’s just me, but I’d break anything too fragile if a weight rolls on me leg, etc. and anything larger gets in the way.
I just plug my phone into the PA at the gym and force everyone to listen to my stuff. ;)
I would stay away from the shuffle and stick with Nano as I like having a screen… that said, I forget if the new nano has a screen or not… if it does it would be ok, but I had an old one and not being able to pick a song you want to hear is a bitch… I have an iphone (same size as a shuffle) and if you bought an armband for it it would be ok, but having it in a pocket would piss me off during any lift as it is pretty big and awkward… That said, if you do an armband, the touch is not much more expensive then a nano and with all the apps you can get it has a lot more usability everwhere else you go…
or, get an armband for your touch, get an iphone, and be full of win!!
And I’ve broken my back in three places, focus on TBT and karate training, own a business and still work for another company, am five inches shorter than you, and still I’m heavier than you.
Good for you. You also weigh nearly 100lbs less than me at 3 inches taller and I may be one of the few here who is as efficient at tackling you as he is making a surgical incision and then closing the site using one continuous closing suture.
I’ve seen two of you now come into the thread and make comments like this as if you are claiming we are “too geek” and you, with your ability to play baseball, aren’t.
Guess what…many of the people in this thread are about as strong physically as you may perceive them to be geeks.
Quit the dumb posts…or at least be bad ass enough to put all of us to shame for real.

Same here, which sucks since I was looking forward to it. I heard it was very short, ~6 hours on Heroic. Looks like I’m getting Batman instead!
Batman is an excellent game imo. I’m about 30% through it and have nothing negative to say about it so far. Everytime I here the joker speak I think of Luke Skywalker lol…I wish my son never told me it was him doing the voiceover…it’s just weird.

I played the heck out of Gran Turismo 3 but after that, I haven’t spent too much time with any racing games. Need for Speed Shift looks good and I might give the Gran Turismo that’s coming out on PSP a look.
