Gawd Dayum! Ghetto Workout

The women on on these playgrounds can do more pullups than you guys. When you feel good about yourself you tend to be confident or cocky like these guys. so what? Get off your fat asses and go do some push ups.
Damn straight. `Nuff said.

Hey Professor X, as for legality when I came back from overseas I found all the gyms in my area replaced the standard fartlek wooden stations they had with crappy workout stations like handcranks and yoga stations. I shit you not, yoga stations. But really the reason I addressed this to you is because the playground part which I went towards to do pull-ups on the monkey bar (since there was no pull-up station anymore) has a big sign saying nobody without a child allowed in. Every park in Orlando metro says this now.

Oh and one of the main guys that is famous for this sorta thing is Marvin Pierre and his training partner is a white dude probably even more famous, goes by Livewire. There’s a video of Livewire doing a flag and letting someone walk out onto his side.

At 1:07 you’ll see both White and Black at the playground in shirtless harmony. Oh and for those that don’t know Livewire is the white dude in cargos and a black tanktop.

Man I love that vid and other street running vids. Puts a smile on your face watching these dudes enjoying life so much. Makes you appreciate freedom and just life itself. The environment is beautiful.

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Sheer strength. The bigots and haters make me sad. I had hoped we’d evolved.

WTF?

Their target audience relates to how they speak. I swear, the mentality that causes people to think all things not related to their own personal culture equals wrong is some really arrogant shit.

Did you think YOU were the target audience?

all Im saying programs like that should appear to be open to anyone, I wasnt saying it wasnt cool cuz Im not the target… If someone posted a middle class suburban workout Id say it was stupid too

Because they got to get paid… you don’t need to take a marketing class to know your target audience and how to sell something to them.

That may be their target audience but it really isn’t all that professional. The dialogue could definitely be worded differently to omit swear words to make it more ad friendly while still sounding urban or whatever.

This shit is retarded, pushups on top of the bus stop? ya real necessary. Dips on someone’s car bumper, if that was my car they’d get a boot to the head. Shirts off at the playground - pedo much? While the main premise has some validity, the way it’s presented is pure douchebaggery.
Is this post serious? Shirts off at a playground (which is no doubt where the basketball court is) equals “pedophile”? What, do you live in Kansas?
Why don’t you joke about how all black people have big shiney wheels on there

You’re an idiot.

"Why do those rappers use so much slang? The dialogue could definitely be worded differently to omit swear words to make it more ad friendly while still sounding urban or whatever?

Guess what…not everyone cares whether YOU are included.

Not to mention, since when is it the goal of all business ventures to not have a specific target audience?

The same reason 50 Cent’s record sales would be ZERO if he sounded like you seem to want “urban” people to is the same reason these guys didn’t worry about sounding more friendly so that YOU feel more comfortable.

It is amazing people actually think like you though. Clearly all ads for all products should simply be generic and universal with no target audience at all.

Some of the people here make me wonder how they make it in life without accidentally killing themselves.

You’re the idiot. This isn’t a fucking rap video, it’s a workout video. If this is suppose to be a serious attempt to actually market and sell something it doesn’t work well. You think they’d be able to put that on tv on the shopping channel or something the way it’s delivered in this video? I don’t think so. Pull your head out of your ass.

Resorting to name calling now are we. I don’t really see what you get so worked up about in these threads. It’s like you get angry if someone doesn’t agree with you or says something you don’t like. Yes we’re all going to kill ourselves just b/c we don’t agree with you. Pretty immature IMO.

I more or less agree with guy above me. I can’t really tell if this video is a joke or a serious attempt to market the workout to make some kind of profit. I never said it needs to be generic, so I don’t know what you’re going on about. I said it can still be urban or “ghetto” if that’s what you want to call it, targeting that market, but be worded differently to come off more professional and more focused. As it stands, the video is a joke.

Wait, you have their sales records? How do YOU know it doesn’t work well?

LOL at the people saying these guys are pedophiles for taking their shirts off at a playground. Urban playgrounds aren’t your typical suburban playgrounds.

Also, LOL at everyone saying that the clip is an unprofessional piece of advertising. Really? Do you think these guys care about what John Smith thinks about them on a message board?

Take the video for what it is, black guys in the projects using creativity to get a workout in…The language they use in the video is the language they use everyday. Who cares if they say “nigga”? Were you expecting a video titled Ghetto Workout to be narrated by Mike Rowe?

Where do you people even see them trying to sell this is what I’d like to know? Cause I’m pretty sure it only exists in the form of that youtube clip - I’ve not found anything to suggest otherwise.
