I’m real sore today, I would imagine it can be attributed to stress and lack of rest/food. I did my best to rest up and cram stuff down my cram-hole despite not feeling like doing either one, but it likely wasn’t enough. So I just had a sleeve of Oreos with my protein shake after lifting and we’re taking some fried chicken to my grandma’s this weekend. Not gonna eat pretty but I’m gonna eat, dammit. Mentally I’m better today, able to work and focus better.

Took it a bit easier today, I’m feeling beat up and I have some physical pursuits later this week that I’d like to be fresher for. Session felt good, I murdered the single at 415 and that was what the doc ordered. Elbows feel good.

Today was a good session. First time pressing that my elbows didn’t hurt and naturally I hit a lifetime PR. Deadlift was good too, as was assistance. I really pushed the pace because I only had an hour to fit it into. Might be the right move going forward since it worked out well.
2022 has taken a wet, slobbery shit on my face so far. Took a ski trip this weekend to unwind after my grandfather passed and my in-laws got in a bad car crash. All is relatively OK other than discovering a bunch of health issues in my father-in-law that they have to get sorted. On top of that I’ve got two of my own family members going in for somewhat risky surgery next week. So bunch of stress going on and I’m trying to keep myself, my wife, and both families shiny side up. Apparently the universe thought the 2010’s were too easy for me

This session was exactly what the doc ordered for me. Felt good to get some energy out.
I’ve lifted twice since my last post, finishing L2 W2 D4 and doing L2 W3 D1 and D2 combined in the same session. I’m dragging, I feel like shit, can’t sleep (or stay asleep when I can actually sleep), but I’m plugging along. Just don’t have the energy for a full log right now.
I ran 3 miles yesterday and then walked another mile with my wife. The time outside and the run did me a lot of good - I feel much better than I have. For some reason, running is like my body’s great reset.
Combined Coffinworm L2 W2 Day 3 and day 4 into one session. I got the work done, which was nice, but I compressed the shit out of my left hip. And, for some reason, I narrowed my press grip. Immediately got way stronger. My press has made more progress in the last year than it did in the previous 5. I did 140 for 3 x 5, which is a PR (on my “deload week”).

This is how I wish my squat would feel everyday. Strong, stable, and I had the motivation to do shit finally. Hitting a lifetime PR after the worst start to a year of my life since '08 is a big deal and validates trudging through despite not wanting to. I’ve got unfinished business, though, and am really pumped for it.

I got fucknuts and cockstrong on this one and I shouldn’t have. I slept bad and had to rush…should have just tried to push 170 for multiple reps. Either way, 155 x 5 is a PR. Assistance was good, loving the chops for core strength and overall balance/stability.
