Felt nice to get some running in. Physical anxiety - heartrate, irregular beat, fluttery chest - has been bad so I knew I needed to run. Got new shoes and they seem to be just as good as the trusty rusties, maybe better.
No, doc and I agreed to come off BP meds November 2019 and I’ve maintained pretty much perfect numbers since. 115/75 average. Whole family gets weird heartbeats here and there but nothing’s ever been found even with wearable monitors. I notice it when I’m getting sick or when I’m run down or under stress. All 3 might be going on right now, have a decent suspicion my wife and I may have the 'vid.
It seems many are getting it. I think I had it a few weeks back. My wife and I both were sick, she had a negative test, so I assumed a cold. But, it was really hard for me to catch my breath while lifting. Much more than usual. I was almost home from the gym, and I was still catching my breath (was about 15 minutes).
Thanks! Biggest indication so far is an abnormal headache, night sweats (fucking profuse, I mean shower and move to the couch bad) real thick mucus, and just being tired. I can still lift so I’m not getting my ass kicked, but I sure ain’t 100%.

Decent session today, form was sloppy overall though. Blame it on poor recovery and sleep. Realized I never upped my salt despite lowering carbs since I’m on a lower volume program. Fixing that and expect to feel a lot better pretty quickly.
In true third-week-of-January fashion, my wife and I both had a whaleshit fucking terrible week this week. I had 40 hours of work by Wednesday and averaged like 5 hours sleep a night. Wife just didn’t have a great time with work either. And on top of that we both felt shitty physically too.
All that being said, I did week 3 of Coffinworm with squat Monday, bench Friday, and did both deadlift and press combined on Saturday. We did what we needed to recover this weekend so I should be on better footing to start Leader 2 tomorrow.
Usually it’s right around Christmas/New Year that’s emotionally difficult for me - last week was pretty much just work, insomnia, and potentially being sick all at the same time. Had a huge project due that wasn’t going well but I think I pulled it off. Hope all goes well for you with your surgery coming up!

I didn’t feel good this morning - tired and sore - but when I got moving that changed pretty dramatically. Squat flew and felt really stable. Elbows felt decent, apparently right now I need to have pinkies on the rings and a full 5-finger grip around the bar for them to be happy. Bench felt really good too, probably because it was the first time in a month my elbows didn’t hurt. Assistance was good as well.

Elbows were improved vs last week but worse compared to yesterday. Chins really aggravate them and any imbalance in my press form makes it worse too. I’m gonna finish this out 4x per week but will probably run it 2-3x per week in the future.
Today’s training is fueled by rage and grief. I lost my grandfather Tuesday night and the circumstances (roundaboutly involving COVID) are going to stick with me for awhile. I don’t know how much I want to put on here because I don’t know who around me knows about this log and/or follows it. But I’m very angry at the way the situation shook out, mostly at myself for not involving myself more early on. I’m lucky that I had 30 years with all 4 of my grandparents and that the time spent raising my brothers and I was split almost evenly between my parents and my 2 sets of grandparents. I essentially had 6 parents and a shit ton of different cultures that I grew up around and for that I’m a lucky sonofabitch. Training summary to follow when I’m done.
Really sorry to hear this, my man. Sounds like you have an amazing family. I hope you’re able to find some peace about the situation sooner rather than later.

Great session today, which I really needed. I feel better getting some energy out and feeling a little physical pain. 10 minutes of cardio was the right idea too.
