Games to Solve Social Problems

There was an episode of TED talks, about solving the worlds social problems. The idea is to make video game of social problems and have kids solve them. It is believed that children can solve social problem better because their imagination is still intact.

Humans have been playing games as far back as 10,000 years. We love games but more important, we love to win!

Yeah, it’s called “Call of Duty”.

Modern Warfare II for example, a bunch of terrorists shoot up an airport so we hunt them down and kill them. Problem solved, problem stayin solved!

Who writes the code?

Exactly. Every game will have a narrative and each of us would tell a different story of what needs to be solved.

What games we could develop:

“Debug Obamacare”

“Housing For Everyone”

“Stop Global Warming by Destroying Everything That Uses Petrolium”

“Subjugate the Muslim World!”

There are so many great games waiting for development

There are already games that exist that do this, just not everyone knows about them, they are pretty common amongst geeks, folks into Phil and Physics… So probably some here have never heard of them. One is called Foldit, was pretty fun playing with this back in college.

Some more games that help science.

Cheers.

Yeah this… It is a manipulation and indoctrination breading ground.

Just like the majority of journalism majors are young, idealist liberals with a full socialist indoctrination from Freshman Soc 101… the world view of the code monkeys will shine through.
