Hi bohicabob,
Looks like a fine piece of equipment. Can you program it to beep every second? Is the beep-volume adjustable? Able to have a different beep/sound every 30th second?
== Scott==
At first I tried leaving two reps in the tank but lately I have pushed the 10 or whatever reps it turns out to be to failure and still the final 30 second negative is to easy.
I believe this is a question for Dr Darden to respond to.
On the middle 10, of 30-10-30, which is best: leaving 1 rep or 2 reps in the tank? My answer is 2 reps.
Practice those middle reps with precision form and all of a sudden 2 reps in the tank becomes 1 rep.
I suggest getting your son to video you on his phone and then post it here for feedback.
Mark
- I don’t believe so though I’ve never needed to try this.
- No, but it sure is LOUD enough! LOL!
- For a 30-10-30 setup for example, there’s “bell ringing” at the very start of the first 30 second
interval, then “bell ringing” at the end of the first and beginning of the second 30 second
interval, then “bell ringing” at the end of the last 30 second interval. You can use both sound
and vibration alarms. I only use the sound.

Dr Darden, what do you think ? Shouldn’t the last 30 second negative be much harder when I kill myself on the 10 reps ? I can easily make the 30 second negative last 40 seconds or more on most exercises??
Scott
Scott,
Stop after the second 30-second negative. Don’t try to extend it to 40 seconds. Quit worrying about how you feel.
Eat a little more food, drink plenty of water, and try to sleep better. And don’t stress out over your training.
Listen to that country song, 7 Summers three times in a row, and think back to your younger days.
== Scott ==
Yes I am a worry wart , ha ha! I think part of my problem is I’ve been thinking to much of my younger days hoping I can recapture some of that. Maybe I can and maybe I can’t but I’m going to give it a try!
Thanks!
Scott
That is a fine personal reply! Also, a good bittersweet song it is. Reflection is often the missing link to answers. I often ask myself, what is more important right now?
== Scott ==
Yes that was an excellent reply! I’d forgot about that song . I can’t tell you how many times I have or someone else has brought up how important something is to me like building muscle and I’d have to say not at all but for some crazy reason I’m just hooked to it . Heck if I’d spent as much time fussing over making money as I have with this stuff I might be rich by now but then again I never wanted to be rich, and I never thought I could get big , It’s like fishing,I just like to do it.
Great 30-10-30 book preview TYVM! You are always at cutting edge. Where is the best summary of your 30-30-30 plan. On this board or any books?
He goes over 30-30-30 in his book “The Bodyfat Breakthrough”, he has a whole chapter on it.
Thanks Dave is that book different than his book
Killing Fat
It covers some of the same ground in terms of diet recommendations, but covers more of the 30-30-30 workout instead of 30-10-30. If you would like a nice preview and explanation of the book, he has a seminar with 21 Studios on YouTube that goes fairly in-depth on the origins of 30-30-30. Just search “Ellington Darden The Bodyfat Breakthrough”. I hope you find this helpful!
Guys, don’t forget, Tyler not only workout with the 30-10-30 plan, but he was also drinking daily a half gallon of water laced with branched cyclic dextrin, amino acids, ergogenic compounds, and electrolytes. This Plazma solution helped him a lot.
In doing the NEW 30ten30 it is easy to realize why Dr. Darden also presented the midlle 30 option. the ten is hard to accomplish as one digs deeper into the program over time. Two things I know. 1, if I had this idea in the 90’s my boys would have shown progress throughout the seasons not only in preseason weight room assignments but during the game weeks to. 2, 30 took me back into progress.

I’m wondering will the 30 10 30 work in same way on 20 years old and 50 years old people ?
with same diet and same generics guys ?
Thank you
