…and your point is? I grew up in South Park Houston, not exactly the richest part of town but not rock bottom either. I just had parents who noticed their kid had some talent so they sent me to schools far outside of my zoning area that had good testing scores. What does that have to do with speaking as a black man in America? Do you think the average person looking at me assumes my educational background?

My dad was in the Air Force and a technical engineer for Tandy Computers in Ft.Worth back in the day. But my parents divorced and I had the luxury of growing up in the fucking pine forest that is East TX(my mom’s home)…Rusk Co. TX to be exact…Google it. The biggest thing that goes on there is the Heritage Syrup Festival.
Imagine how that went for me…especially when the other black kids thought being smart was “acting white.” Imagine going from upper middle class Hulen area of Ft.Worth…to poor Henderson,TX. Made for an interesting upbringing. But it shaped who I am today…enough of the life story.
