Funny Cartoon(s)

Either way, we don’t have a bad track record about turning over Jews to the nazi’s. More than 50% was hidden by the population. Much more than other countries in similar circumstances, like the Netherlands and France, were able to do.

Only handing slightly less than 50% over to be murdered.
At least, we didn’t start putting people in concentration camps of our own, like you guys did with Japanese people.
Locking up the Japanese/Americans was wrong but at least the were not slave labor/extermination camps.

To compare the two is odious.

Ok, first you started whining, commenting on that Kerry cartoon.

Then you dissed me, that I should stop whining.

Then you whined some more.

How strange must it be to defend your nation by saying “we don’t have a bad track record” when about 50% of the Jews were handed over to meet thier maker? Hell of a defense!

How cool is it to be able to say the America was part of the Allied Forces that FREED those same Jews (the ones that survived anyway)?.

You’re whining again.

There’s a difference between rebutting and whining. If you want to rebutt any of my cartoons, go ahead, let’s take them one-by-one.

While you guys go back and forth at each other over Democrat and Republican, just remember if you align yourself with one party and not an individual candidate based on their beliefs you’re just a jackass. There’s so many tools on both sides I just pick who to insult on matters regarding their personal decisions, statements, etc. I thought all the cartoons were funny, except the one with the old donkey in the chair. Pissing on what this country was founded upon is not a means of winning a war that we’re going to inevtiably win anyway. The founders must be rolling over in their graves…
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

  • Ben Franklin
    (but yeah, what’d he know?)

The Democrats won’t find the republican cartoons funny, the republicans won’t find the democrats’ cartoons funny. Its nonsense to discuss the accuracy of any of the cartoons because they are all distortions of reality. They are not trying to be accurate, they are trying to be funny.

As for this discussion about “whining.” No one seems to be whining, but no one is really posting rebuttals either. A rebuttal is a refutation with supply of evidence/proof. Derek’s first responses posted (“OMG NO WAY!” and “Is that supposed to be funny?”) are hardly rebuttals. Nor is what Wreckless has posted (essentially “I told you so!”). Simply declaring by fiat that your opinion is the correct is no rebuttal. Its not intelligent. Its just poor argument.

Report slams Belgium’s WWII record

Belgium is facing up to its too-cosy relationship with its world war two German occupiers. A group of historians this week has presented to parliament’s upper house a report that is severely critical. It claims administrators actively collaborated in the deportation of Jews on a large scale.

The report reveals three key moments in this tainted relationship that led to mass deportations. In the autumn of 1940 Belgium is occupied. The civil service and justice system accepts, on Nazi orders, to make a census of all Jews everywhere. The second key moment is the summer of 1942. While in Brussels the authorities refuse to distribute yellow stars, Antwerp’s local police arrest 1243 Jews, and hand them over to the Nazis for deportation. 90 percent of Belgium’s 56 000 Jews live in these two cities. Finally, after the liberation at no moment does the state look into its role, recognise its responsibility, or punish anyone. 25 000 Belgian Jews are deported. Only 1200 survive.

The report is titled “Docile Belgium”, but why was there such a supine response; as the report says, a disgrace for a democracy? One of the investigators, Rudi van Doorslaer, explains: “Belgium’s traditional elite has a certain xenophobia of its own, with an anti-semitic fringe. The reason for this, in fact, is a lack of democracy that was very telling in the 1930’s and 40’s”.
Anti-Semitist.

What are you saying with this response. I really want to know.

Did I even write any of that above? At least get your facts straight.

What I did write was information/opinion to the contrary of the “other” cartoons. Where I come from, that’s called rebuttal but what do I know?

Bush forgot the first principle of war: Bring the most and do it first. Really, trying to win on the cheap — that was a giant mistake. Should have put half a million men in there, kill everything that even farts in your direction and pacify the place. Then “Gather up boys, we’re headin’ for Iran!!”

Either fight to win or don’t fight, plain and simple.

I wish we could get a president who didn’t try to make everyone happy and would just fucking do what’s RIGHT!

How about the General who was just put in charge in Iraq? If he does the job, make him the fucking president!!
