Sorry my rep!y is a bit further down the page!
I like my time in the gym. The only way I would train once a week would be if I was forced by circumstance.
There are benefits to strength training other than superhuman strength and emulating Mike Mentzer. IMO. Do what you can and like to do.
Thanks for the reply. I still enjoy training but i must admit i do find it harder to motivate myself now that i am older. When i was younger and making progress it was easier. In addition i have a couple of niggles as well as my current shouder problem which limit me a bit… Thank you. Andrew.

Where did Darden state that he trains 4x/week? not saying he doesn’t
once a week for me is not only deconditioning but i also lost strength and cardio benefits
therefore, i found twice a week to MMF with 30-10-30 of seven exercises each workout works well for me…as long as i stay disciplined with the diet, lol
in and out of the gym in 15 minutes
I am 61
Hi dr darden stated this in sept 2020 on a post titled " frequency… Any new recommendations?". I dont know if he still trains 4 times per week on a split routine. Hopefully he will see this post and provide some more up to date information on his training. Thanks for your reply. Andrew.
As for joints…try slow, if you are not already…i.e. 4 sec pos and 4 sec negative
Yes have trained 4/4 for several years now. It definitely helps with the joints and can still make the sets very intense. Thank you . Andrew.
