Know this is off topic but took some time to do something crazy and rode 100 miles with some old friends. Anything is possible. Believe brother. Believe.
Hope you are well and pulling strong. DL’s are your friend and your diet post looks great. Hang in there and keep fighting the good fight.
I don’t know what kind of guy you are but as an old endurance athlete my motto is - get stronger, get faster, hurt people.
It is not malicious but nothing feels better than squeezing out just a little more than the guy next to you. It is a personal struggle and on your journey you may just find . . . . . . . . (I am still looking)
hello heavy
good to see that you still have your shoulder to the wheel
looks like you have the diet nailed
remember one bad day or weak does not define you as a failure-this goes for diet and exercise-keep on truckin
as a previous poster stated when you think you can handle it go to full body compound program- the anabolic and fat burning potential is what you are looking for
keep us posted
First thing I would do if I were you is to change your nick to something more positive.
Continue the good work, and please, assume it will be along journey that you do for you ! Don’t be tempted by any magical diets (or surgery), losing fat and maintaining your weight lost need time, patience and discipline.
As someone said, get a blood test with a full hormonal profile. A year ago I was at 350lbs, when I found that my testosterone level was very low, since then I am on a TRT, I feel better, and now I am at 270lbs.
Right now, I eat very very clean, and let me tell you that I am not even tempted by any crap. My secret: I stopped the comiseration and the pity I had against myself, I assume my situation and build my action plan. And the results are coming faster than I thought. I go to the gym 5X per week for 2 hours/day. By the way, I meet with my personal trainer every six weeks for a new program, this way, I make sure that I don’t build a program myself with things I like to do in the gym, you know what I mean? And my trainer is not the kind of putting me on a treadmill for an hour or kind of giving 3X10 type of program.
You will obviously get a lot of support here and if you need more go on precisionnutrition.com, this is the philosophy I am following.
Stay strong, I know how hard it is and if you need support pm me.

Month #2 Oct 1st 455lbs
I hurt my lower back a couple weeks ago and have started back today. A little on the lighter side but felt good to be back in the weight room. I really really kept my eating clean and on point while I couldn’t work out so I am still thinking I will lose a couple to a few lbs this week.
Like I said today was my first day back in the weight room. I am thinking of working on a rippetoes 3x5 or 5x5. There are a couple lifts I can’t do at my current size but I am working towards it anyway. Lifts are really light but I plan to stick with these 3 times a week for a couple weeks or until I max out.
Today
Leg Press 90lbs/10reps x 2 sets,180lbs/5 x 3
Bench Press 45lbs/10,65lbs/10,95lbs/5 x 3
Seated Rows 25lbs/10, 35lbs/10,50lbs/5 x 3
Leg Curls 40lbs/5 x 3
10 mins on treadmill, I planned on doing 20 but could feel my back getting tight so I took a rest.
Hope everyone has been well it will take me a while to catch up on everyones journals
Great work SHW. I need to find your resolve and drop 30-50lbs. Keep up the good work. Get outside and go for a walk. I find that easier on my back then the treadmill.(less boring too)
Thanks everybody back was a little tight today but I acctually did about 20 body weight squats and it really seemed to help some.
Diet was good looking forward to the workout tommorow. I am a little sore but as the weight was light not to bad at all. I think the soreness is actually from work not the workout lol.
Looks like you’re going great guns! Based on nothing but experience and educated guessing, I’d be pretty surprised if your 10lb lost isn’t 20lb fatloss and 10lb muscle gain. I’ll bet your conditioning is improving with each week. Firstly, I want to say I back you 100% and think you’re putting in a real effort but can I put my hardass hat on for a moment?
-Are you still being a pussy in the gym? I refer not to leaving out squats and deads (cos doing them at the mo would be madness) but more specifically to a)rest intervals between sets of lifting (reduce them! even if your weights go down; 45s rest is great, supersets would also be great for you) and b) treadmill action; could you go faster/longer? and even more importantly, can you add more incline? you’d be amazed at how many more cals walking at a 3 or 4% incline will burn!
remember, at this stage weights are critical too (for reasons we all know…) but the moving about will burn the most calories if you work hard enough.
Hang in there. DON’T BE A PUSSY! (I’m not calling you a pussy, just giving you a nudge not to fall into that trap). You’re doing too much good stuff to wreck it with a piss poor effort in the gym.
Finally, an idea i’d strongly recommend for your own motivation is to commit to posting new pics with your results on the 1st of every month. Do it for us and do it for you SHW.
Actually another finally comment! I commend the way you’re listening to what everyone is saying and deciding for yourself what to accept and what to reject. Without trying to sound like a know-all (honestly!), I’m confident about my knowledge on just about all stuff pertaining to your situation so please feel free to PM or just post any q’s.
