great transformation! You are a great motivator to people that are on the heavy side. Once again and congratulations on converting your mind and body. Keep it up and just remember you are doing it for yourself and family. Your risks for coranary heart disease has drastically decreased.Great job and keep workin your ass off in the gym.
Hey, stillearning,
Very good work. I gave you a 10, because I can only imagine how difficult it is to overcome the emotional and cognitive barriers of an eating and lifestyle disorder, and keep up this lifestyle. You are a very strong minded individual, and like any reformed alcoholic, or recovered anorexic you have truly made significant progress as a human being.
If there’s any advice I can give you at this point, it is to start working heavy compound lifts in order to stimulate your natural anabolic response. Deadlifts, squats, cleans, and bench should be the foundations of your 4x a week routine. Eat six meals, and add in plenty of fish, lean beef, almonds, spinach, broccoli, macademian nuts and various fruits into your diet.

Senecan–Is it really that big of a deal to you?? People can rate what they choose and that is cool with me. Personally I know I am not a 7 and I am ok with that. It really took a lot for me just to post the picture just from a self esteem stand point.
You cant go from having a completly shitty self esteem where you feel you are worth nothing to someone who is much more confident in themselves in a year and still not have some apprehensions about things. You will not nor do I expect you to understand. There is more to it then just “letting my health get so bad”. When you are predisposed from early childhood to that type of eating and lifestyle you really dont know anything better. The important thing I am no longer a fat ass.
I come to this site to learn about things I can do to improve on that is why I posted. Not to say “hey look at me” because I know I am not much to look at…YET… I think you are reading way to much into all of this. If you want to contribute to the post how about some advice. What can I do to bulk up? You look like you have been working out for a while I am sure you have some good points you can share… If not then…
I’m just sayin…
Its hard to tell how much excess skin you have, but you can fill some of that in by eating 6 quality, healthy, good sized meals throughout the day.
Sorry if you posted this already, but whats your lifting routine like.
I usually follow this routine but at times mix it up a bit
Mon–Quads and calves
Tues–Chest and Triceps
Wends–Shoulders/Abs
Thurs–Hams/Calves
Fri–Back/Biceps
Sat–Cardio/Abs
Sunday Off[/quote]
That looks pretty good. I would switch shoulders and abs with hams and calves…but thats just me.
Wow, that is amazing work ![]()
You know you have done more than your job when you inspire other people to copy you (without even meaning to). Legend.
Something happened yesterday that really took me off guard at the gym. I was doing Chest and Tri’s (had to switch a day this week) and 2 ladies came up to me and asked me to help them with there triceps exercises because this was the first time they had ever worked out.
So I spent the next 30 minutes helping them. It was a great feeling walking away knowing that “I” was teaching someone how to exercise. It it still a little surreal to me all the changes that I have been through. I have to get and keep the mentality that I am no longer fat. I really had a good time working with them!!!
Big Leg day tommarrow!!! Super pumped about it. Planning on warming up with 3 sets of lunges then into Squats, Front squats. Leg extensions and finish up with some barbell lunges!!! Great Day ahead
Well done. That shows some serious determination.
thats crazy
Had an awesome weekend. I had a body fat analysis this weekend (I had one about 3 weeks ago as well) and I have gained 6 pounds of lean muscle in three weeks!!! I am freaking jacked!!!

Been doing well body fat hasn’t dropped much still sitting at 9.8 at last check. Still very frustrated, haven’t seen many size gains in arms and chest. Got to keep at it though if I want to get a little mo bigga!!!
NEVER GIVE UP. It’s a strength and honor battle!!
Though in all seriousness, when you feel like your stagnating, then swap it up. Try for a week or two. If it isn’t stimulating the muscle then, go for another swap ~ body part splits, push pull splits, upper/lower splits, single muscle development per day, TBT, Double Days, Giant Sets/Super Sets/Drop Sets/Up Sets/Rack Running, Hypertrophy failure sets, Partner driven 5-10 second only rests between lifts, Strength & Power lifting with 2-3 minute rests ~ The options and ways to address your most recent update are enddddddddddlessssssss ^^ Or we can go with the latest and greatest fads, RIPPETOE! MADCOW! DC! AND SO MUCH MORE!!!
AND NOW FOR 25.99 YOU WILL NOT GET 1 BUT 2 KEYCHAINS WITH THE BARBELL INSIGNIA ETCHED IN GORGEOUS HANDCRAFTED ALUMINUM RECYCLED FROM TRASH FOUND IN ALASKA!!
Well done bro! It looks like your holding your chid in the before picture, and if that isn’t enough motivation for you to stay healthy, then nothing is! Keep it up, your motivating others with what you have accomplished.
I gave you a 9 because I think it takes a lot to finally get pissed enough to change your lifestyle.
I know this because I was 260lbs this summer and just hit 199 yesterday and working towards 155 (130lbs lbm and want to be 18%bf)
Your pics are inspiring!
Your goal is to get to 155 @ 18% bf? That seems like a high bf for that weight. But congrats on the weight you have lost! That must have taken a lot of hard work. (That’s directed to Meechel, not the OP.)
WOW
nice job man!!!
your abs look better than mine!!!
i dont do any ab work though lol
I just want to say that this is great work man, I am looking to hit similar goals as yourself, I never find people that have the same height/build as myself when they make transformations… a lot of short round people… what about us tall big guys?
I’m currently 6’3" 255 looking to get toned for once in my life, started at a max weight of 285 when I decided it was time to make changes, my dieting and progress has been slow, but now I am totally focused and have been for 3 months, most recently starting at 275… I have my goals, and threads like this inspire me and convince me that I can bust through plateaus and blast my goals to the ground.
Awesome.
Awesome man. as a FFB i feel your pain! I think it’s harder physically and mentally for a fat dude to get lean than a lean dude to get big but on the other spectrum we have a lot more emotional leverage to get lean!
Awesome job SL1! I was just getting down on my personal progress with weight loss and your thread gave me the kick in the pants I needed! Keep up the good work! 10 for you!
