12/20/09:

Bodyweight: ??, probably around the same as before Finals

OH Press: 116.0lbs (4x5) - heavy

Squat: 226lbs (5); 231lbs (5/5) - not bad

Deadlift: 226lbs (1x5) - my grip sucks

Barbell Rows: 136lbs (3x5) - cheated

I haven’t worked out in a week due to finals. Nutrition was extremely shitty and sleep was even worse. I had lost a lot of weight by Tuesday but gained it all back by drinking soda and juice lol.

OH press strength went down, I’m guessing by 5lbs on my 4x5. It’s not too bad, and I’m sure I can get it back soon.

I don’t think I lost much on my squats. I did a tough 236lbs 4x5 before finals, and 231lbs was not bad today.

I didn’t feel like doing 15 reps for deadlifts after squats, so I went heavier. This is the first time I have ever deadlifted 2 plates for 5 reps conventional. Yes, my deadlift is terrible, but I have gained a lot on it after diligently training it for the past few weeks.

Barbell rows were heavy. I lost a significant amount of reps on that. I notice that upper body strength goes first.

12/22/09:

Bodyweight: ??

Bench: 156lbs (4x5) [3-min breaks]

Squat: 231lbs (5/2) - tight left quad, tight left erector, cut it short

Pullups: BW (3x4)

Decline Abs: +90lbs (1x15)

I left my passage pillow in Berkeley, but I ordered one for here. It’s coming on the 24th tho. :frowning:

12/26/09:

Bodyweight: ??

Squat: 266lbs x1; 281lbs x1; 306lbs x1 [really 296lbs]; 316lbs x0 [belt and knee sleeves] - all of these were deep, I can get 3 plates soon if I don’t get injured or anything like that

OH Press: 116lbs (5/5/4) - heavier bar maybe, but still disappointing

BB Row: 146lbs (4.5) - couldn’t complete that last rep

I didn’t want to squat high-volume today because I’m playing football later. I was also going to deadlift but cut that out because it would make me way too tired for later.

edit: 296lbs, not 306lbs, miscounted my plates :frowning:

12/28/09:

Bodyweight: 159.0lbs waking up pre-shit (?)

Bench: 161lbs (4x5) [3, 3.5, 4-min breaks] - tough but not heavy

Squat: 231lbs (3x5) - tough

Pullups: BW (5/4/4)

I felt like throwing up after my last set of squats. I was going to deads after pullups but cut it short. Deads tomorrow.

Also, I miscounted my squat weights from last time. Damn.

12/29/09:

Bodyweight: 159.4lbs waking up pre-shit

Deadlift: 206lbs (7+4+4)

DB Curls: 12.5lbs x30

I hate deadlifting with hexagon plates.

12/31/09:

Bodyweight: Forgot, but something a lot heavier lol

OH Press: 116lbs (3x4); 96lbs (11) - horrible, I need to move up on this fucking exercise

Squat: 236lbs (3x5) - 4.5 then 5-min breaks, pretty tough

BB Rows: 136lbs (5/5/4.5)

Decline Abs: +90lbs (19) - failure on 20th

01/01/10:

Squat: 241lbs (3x5) - 5 and then 7-min breaks; almost failed the last rep of the 2nd set; squatted a little higher on the 3rd and it became easy (still much below parallel though I’m guessing)

01/03/09:

Bench: 165lbs (5/5/5/4) - closer-than-normal grip today, no clips

Deadlift: 211lbs (7+4+4) - the reps in the mini-sets were not even done one right after another; considerably long breaks in-between mini-sets; tough!

01/05/09:

Bodyweight: didn’t eat much yesterday, lost just a little weight I think

OH Press: 116lbs (4); 111lbs (5/5) - heavy and tough; deload time for sure…

Squat: 246lbs (3x5) [5 and 7-min breaks] - very hard and tough; very very tough last rep

BB Rows: 141lbs (3x5) - sort of hard

Decline Abs: +90lbs (18) - first 12 in a row

I still love pressing, but I am getting frustrated about my lack of progress. I had gotten up to 118.5lbs for an easy 4x5 before Finals, and now I can’t even complete 116lbs 3x5. Deload to 105lbs…

01/08/09:

Bench: 166lbs (4); 156lbs (6/6) - blame it on lack of food yesterday

Squat: 256lbs (5/4/3) - didn’t push myself on these, but I probably would have failed on the next reps I attempted anyways

BB Rows: 141lbs (3x6) - cheated on quite a few

DB Curls: 17.5lbs (15)

01/09/09:

OH Press: 111lbs (5/5/5/4)

Deadlift: 216lbs (7;4)

Hammer Chins: BW (5/5/5)

01/10/09:

Squats: 241lbs (5/5/5/4) [4.5-min breaks] - dumb, could have gotten 5 on the last set had I rested a minute longer I think

Left elbow was really aching afterward. I need to massage.

01/12/09:

Bodyweight: A little less than 160lbs waking up pre-shit

Squat: 316lbs x1 [belt & knee sleeves] - I think I hit parallel on this, no video though

I didn’t feel strong today warming up. I think I am good for more.

01/13/09:

Bench: 166lbs (5/5/4)

Squat: 246lbs (5/5/4) - lower back felt weird

01/16/09:

OH Press: 106lbs (3x7) [5+min breaks] - somewhat tough on those last reps but not bad

Squat: 251lbs (3x5) - tough; chest up helped a lot on 3rd set, making it easier than the 2nd set

BB Rows: 141lbs (3x5) - this is too heavy for me

Curls: 17.5lbs x some reps - reverse curls feel pretty good on my joints, I think I’ll start adding those in

Back to working back up on OH Press, sigh. I lost a lot of pressing strength from finals that I haven’t gained back, even after gaining weight. Very weird.

Deadlift: 211lbs x10 - legit, felt straining in the tailbone

Decline Abs: +90lbs (15+2)

DB Curls: 20lbs x14 - kept alternating between hammer and reverse grip

01/18/09:

Squat: 256lbs (3x5) - getting tougher, this is a PR

Bench: warmed up to 146lbs, but my joints couldn’t take it anymore

Curls: a lot

Tricep Extensions: a lot

The curls and tricep extensions made my elbows feel a little better. I can’t bench after I squat, it’s too tough on my joints. Bench tomorrow.

01/19/09:

Bench: warmed up to 140lbs, joints can’t take this anymore

DB Chest Press: 55lbs (3x5) - elbows feel fine, left anterior delt feels weak on the last reps though, when the reps get tough

DB Curls: 15lbs x many

Tricep Extensions: 60lbs x many

I’m switching to DB Chest Press until my arms get stronger. I think my joints always get beat up when I bench press because I have very small arms. I never trained them, and now I regret that. Weirdly enough, OH Press doesn’t affect them at all.

01/20/09:

OH Press: 111lbs (7/7/6) [long breaks] - failure on the last set

Squat: 261lbs (5/3/3) - lapse in concentration on the last 2 sets, should have gotten 4 on at least one of those

BB Rows: 136lbs (3x5) - pretty good form, easier than last time

01/22/09:

DB Chest Press: 55lbs (3x11) - not too hard overall

Squat: 261lbs (4/5/4) - bad 3rd of 1st set fatigued me

Pullups: BW (3x5)

Decline Abs: +90lbs (11) - shitty decline bench

DB Curls: 17.5lbs x some reps
