Greenies - I am not supposed to do them slow at all. It just that sitting back feels foreign to me and I think it through too much. My feet are an inch away from the wall which makes it easier. Ultimately you want to be able to do it with your feet right up against the wall in a nice quick squat movement.
Snap - practice yesterday meant cutting out a lot of the fiddling. Just walking up to the bar, setting hands and go.
So had a bunch of things on my today list yesterday and was fueled by the procrastination discussion in Bear’s log. Decided to get all my stuff done Before the candy, which in this case was watching a movie. Hubbie isn’t into watching movies all that much so when he’s not around I usually treat myself.
First I spent I couple of hours at the gym
Then Shopping: including groceries, also a couple of yogo pants because I realized how checking for deth in big cotton sweatpants was not good. And a couple of eckored T’s. Perhaps it’s about time I stop looking like a prison bitch with my holey T-shirts and baggy sweats. I also picked up this cute little outfit for spring which I thought was very frenchie-stylin.

Actually made a nice steak for myself for supper. I don’t like to cook for myself, when I’m alone it’s usually a bowl of cereal.
And finally I watched Inception (yes I know behind) and really enjoyed it.

After that I spent a couple of minutes practicing squats with the bar but it was looking pretty bad so I was switched to box squats and found those tough. I practiced the boxed squats with no weight for a couple reps.
Coach said that she had enough peeps interested in PL that she plans to enter the provincial meet as a team this summer. This gives me an added incentive towards my squat. I might have a bench shirt since my bench is good but until I get my squat right I’m not getting a suit. Somehow thinking about this as a team effort has given me a little boost to push with my squat again.

30 minutes of wall squats and box squats. Here’s my torture set up; I look disfunctional.
hey frenchie - your post reminded me about the wall squats, so I went and did one. Powerlifting wide, feet turned out, big toe almost touching the wall. did OK but it bothered my rigth knee.
two comments on your box squats

you appear to push your upper body forward first instead of your butt back, think about keeping those shoulders in line with your feet.

some flexibility work at the lower end of the squat is needed, keep forcing those shoulder blades together and arch hard especially at the bottom
Okay. I gotta admit. I’m not sure I understand the purpose of those exercises. Are you just trying to sit back more?

Snap - yes. sounds so simple. When I go for depth its all knees. when I sit back I get tight and off balance. something’s not right.
Firstly, awesome squatting and benching! And like it was said, don’t over think it. Just go to do your best and have a blast and you’ll be good! Those exercises look super hard btw. Anything slow and controlled always kicks my ass.

good drills for squatting…on the box squats you may want to get the box higher to start with. You are bending forward too much, need to keep up right…Yes, it’s hard to learn. I remember getting so freaking frustrated, everyone kept telling me it’s natural movement…Bull!
Get the form down with a higher box, do you do some dynamic stretching for the glutes/hams/hips prior?
How are you feeling less than a week out from the meet? Rest/recovery and have FUN !
Damn, miss a few days and you’re a squat machine! Those drills, although they’re hard and annoying, will have you squatting a bajillion pounds with perfect form in no time!
