Frenchie's Killer Queen Log

Bree- you screwed up my head with your name change…wtf?! anywho those strong bridges mixed with the heavy deads did leave my lower back a little toasted but that is all.

Nikki and Nadia - shucks, thanks  goes to show I have much to learn and I prolly didn’t leave it all on the stage. Next time it shall be beast mode, with a shirt on wink at Ink

Woke up feeling good but progressively sore as the day went on. Had a business lunch wich left my stomach feeling off. Decided to hit the gym anyways and quite 30 minutes into it when it became obvious that I was about to hurl. Made my way home, took a few enzymes, hot water and a shower. Pukiness has passed but I feel bloated like a balloon and no appetite what so ever despite that lunch was 6 hours ago…

bench:
bar 1x12
100lbs 1x3
115lbs 1x3
125lbs 1x3 - just glad I could get these in today.
95lbs 1x8

Split Squat 95lbs 4x6 each leg

Machine leg raise 100lbs 3x10

Maybe you shoulda just puked? but good job getting some work in!

x2

About 75% of the time just getting in and grinding it out is the key to victory.

Congrats on the deadlift PR. Nice liftin’. And love the pearls.

Sorry to hear about the pukiness. Nice training yesterday despite.

homework : shit load of wall squats. Worked on them for 30 minutes. Tried Deb’s version holding my broom overhead and I found that easier, except now my thumbs and forarms are now numb and tingly.

I have had issues with my sleep for a while and finally in a fit of anger last night I switched my down duvet for a cheap cotton comforter and slept like a baby. Something about the down was making me overheat all the time. I should have tried this way earlier. Live and learn.

aw man, glad you figured out the sleep thing…hope it continues to work!!

no sleep or lack of sleep is no joke!

Hi Frenchie~

Stopped in to say Hi.

so…

HI!!

MIM- funny thing hubbie mentionned that he hadn’t slept that well in a while either. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’s an easy fix.

HAI you sexy viking you! saw your pic in TK nomnom sir.

all right back to business. Big breakthrough today
1- broom stick overhead = easier. I’m guessing I need work on my arch since my balance is way better this way?
2- focusing on really exagerating the knees out over sitting back felt more natural and stable
3- I need to develop my groin flexibility to move beyond parrallel.

You think I’m sexy?

I really, really loved the fight that you showed on that deadlift PR. You clearly weren’t giving up until you made that barbell your little bitch. My respect.

Thanks for reminding me again about wall squats. I really, really need to do these.

Hopefully your tummy is feeling much improved. Can’t have a Frenchy off her feed!

Just had a thought regarding your wall squats; have you done them without your feet pointed so far outward? I just did one with my feet facing my normal squat direction, which is slightly outward, and it felt fine. Then I tried one with my feet pointed out and was real hard to get depth without getting screwy. Then I looked back at your meet pics and saw your toes are much more forward, so you might want to try some with a normal squat stance but spread your feet an extra foot wider and see if/how that works.

Just a thought

LWI

ya, I thought your feet looked funky too

:stuck_out_tongue:

Kimba - tummy is def all right. Had a date with the hubbie last night which included osso bucco in etouffee sauce, grilled brussel sprouts, banane flambee smothered in syrup and of course a nice vino. I’m all fueled up for tonight’s lifting. Millies are on the menu and possibly some more leg obliteration.

Ink - I’ll give your suggestion a try today… thanks for taking the time to help out.

Work wise has been a crunch these past 2 weeks for quarter end but I’ve given it all I’ve got and I’m happy to end that fight having left it all in the ring. People will be eating their morning cheerios with Superpump baby! lolz.

This has worked wonders for not only opening my hips but the groin too. Hope this helps you.

Anytime! Us PLers gotta stick together!

^ Newbie PL’s Ink

quick lunch time homework. did about 6 of those squat reach stretches posted by Print. Took that long before I was able to sink low enough to call it a squat and not some frog jump.

not very pretty but effective:

after a did about a dozen wall squats focusing on foot placement and knees out. not perfect but I do believe I’m heading in the right direction.

I can’t do this up against the wall yet and my knees are still traveling quite a bit at least I have depth. Now to work on getting up close and personal with the wall.

I’m still perplexed by the wall squats…

is this for balance, knee tracking, etc? Are you doing this because you want a wider stance squat?

Looking better, you’re right. It’s hard to tell from the side, but are your knees coming in at all on the way down? They don’t appear to be on the way up, but it looks like they might fall in a tiny bit on the way down or you’re rolling to the inside edge of your foot a smidge. Need a vid from the back, to check though  (Not an attempt to get a booty vid, I swear, just tryin to help a fellow newb)

Progress is progress though Mainy, and you’re kicking butt!
